Search And Only 4 Letter Minumum

Hey ppls.

I'm wondering whetherr the search will be brought back to 3 letters minumum.

I can only search for 4 letters and over.

removes such combinations as

R33, R32, R34, GTT, GTR, LED

Etc. etc.

it has always been that way? you just need to add a * or something. search this forum it will have the answer

I always remember it as minimum of 3 not 4

yes it was three and i found it pretty annoying as lots of things i want to search for are 3 letters, say i want to search for AFM in the title of threads, it was not possible. also i dont think wildcards were supported as they never worked for me. the search function was/is crap.

It wasn't perfect before but it's practically useless now.

I am working on it coming back, but the issue is this;

If we use fulltext searching (which we are) then there is a minimum 4 char limit but the searching is much quicker and more in depth. If we dont use fulltext, we can make the minimum 1 if we wanted but it would take longer and it wouldnt be as effective.

I am working on a happy medium.... If there is such a thing.
