stuffed ceramic turbo would be about the only real problem with them to look for, the 32 gtst is tuff as and cheap to fix if anything goes wrong.

thanks to the 15 year rule and volume on the market you'll be looking anywhere from about $12-$15 i reckon.

Firstly.

GUIDE TO BUYING A SKYLINE

Check this post out. EXTREMELY helpful. Print it out read it several hundred times (na, just jokin!) read it a few times and if you've found the skyline you're looking for take the guide with you to refer to. Pretty much everything you need to look for is in that guide.

Another tip from myself is look out for rust on the R32's. The most common places for rust are rear wheel arches, just under it or around it. As well as wheel arches open the boot and pull carpet up and look for rust there, look around the boot seals as well. Indication that water maybe leaking into the boot. Ask yourself why water is leaking, worn seal? bodgy accident damage etc. DON'T BE SCARED TO ASK QUESTIONS!!

Another common place for rust on 32's is the floor under front passen :( ger and driver passenger. Hard to spot it unless you take carpet up and have a look. Also look in the engine bay around firewall etc. Open the doors and look at the bottom seals along the body for rust. If its just surface rust, no worries cheap to fix and stop if you get to it quickly enough.

Um... apart from that, the usual steering wheel, shift knob & hand brake lever wear which are common for a car its age. Apart from that you should be good to go!! As the guide also says put it up on a hoist, check the underbody and get a compression test done on the engine.

I could go on with HEAPS more stuff but the link I have provided you pretty much covers the basics in which you need to check gearbox etc.

I hope ive been helpful to you mate and good luck!!

One final note as well, 15 year rule has been discontinued for sometime, BUT, some importers still have stock that was purchased PRIOR to 15 year cancellation. Check the import sites out because they still have some 15 year stock. Don't wait too long as it will go very quickly.

peace. :)

    • Why are you so adamant on going M12? Why not follow Brad (GTSBoy) suggestion. You're talking moving from a 1/8" size, to a 1/2" effectively. 4 times bigger. Why skip the commonly available sizes in between? The bigger you go, the more likely you are to strip the threads out at a later date, as guaranteed, someone will put a huge spanner on the M12 and really tighten it up, and you're only in thin wall, so not a lot of threads to engage!
    • Hi. Yeah thanks. Car is already at tuners and it staying there to resolve "many" issues they do not like. So it is in a good hands. Getting a good tune on that Nistune ECU too so the car would be good. Just needs a little tune up and love.
    • Probably gonna remove manifold and turbo. I’m not sure if I can get M12 x 1.5 air tight. Could use high temp Loctite 246 or something similar, but I don’t know. Maybe it’s just best to remove everything again and weld an 1/8NPT on there instead.
    • Yeah, saw the ratios, not impressed. Would like the punch I have in the first gears now. With those ratios it won't be the same.  Also want the h pattern gearing, or at least a quiet gear set that don't need to come apart for service each year. Looks like the only "reasonable" way Is a 8hp70 transmission, but where is the fun in that🤷‍♂️
