im running -2.8 atm, can't get anymore without getting some aftermarket LCA.

ahaha don't think i be slaming her just yet.

also i don't mind if they hang out ahahaha

sorry i didn't introduce myself at the dyno day today billy... i only worked out who you were when you drove off today lol

your car looks mint with those sizes, and the black worked sooooooo well!

Hi all,

I have 33 GTR, it's lowered with Cusco Zero2 coilovers.

I was wondering what would I need to do to my R if I want to put 18x10.5 +/-0 (there is a pair of SSR Sp1 in this size for sale on ns.com, that I'm tempted to buy this pair and order new pair)?

Or I may be better off buying 18x10 +18 and leave the ride height as is (345mm guard to centre front and 335mm rears)?

Thank you in advance.

Cheers

Grant

Seen heaps of people with 10.5 +12, so 10.5 +/-0 would need fair bit of work also 245/40/18 is alright for it to stretch over 10.5"?

I'm thinking roll the guards, lower it a bit more, anything else I may need to know?

I have 19x9.5" +12 (selling it now) rays fortessr, it fitted inside guards so would need to look at heaps of pics with 10.5 +12 to give me some ideas.

Cheers

245 will fit but it'll be a *bit* of stretch depends what your comfortable with i dont know much about stretch on gtr's since i gotta gtst... but yeh to make it fit, roll, stretch, low but possibly camber OR flare depends how it sits.. post a pic if u got one of 10.5 +0

Hmm...

Might have to make an time for inspection of the rims I mentioned earlier and see what I'm getting myself into.

Alex, thanks for your help.

Cheers

Im also really tempted to get those wheels.... I have an offer for my wheels but its a hard choice to make.

I'd need some crazy stretch 225/45 and some more guard work though.....

8mm slip on is huge.. get 10mm bolt on hubcentrics if u can
run 10mm hubcentric spacers ! are they concave front and rear ? post pics

so i ended up with 10mm bolt on hub centric spacers at the front

only pic i have so far showing the fitment... comments welcome.

Skyline model = R33gts

Wheel diameter = 18"

Wheel width = 9.5"

Wheel offset = +12

Tyre size = front-235/40/18, rear-245/40/18

Modifications to fit = rolled lip front and rear, front plastic removed, rear camber arms (dont really have to have them, just helps)

    • Wow ELVIS. You have an....interesting approach to conversation. Did you not notice that I wasn't talking to you?
    • Hello Liam - HA - somewhere in flies - possibly I have an update, but I have been so busy, projects have taken a back seat to getting business back on track.  I will let you know the outcome, but I think I am going to go for the 8HP,  CHEERS.  ELVIS
    • Thanks Joshuaho96, yes - as someone else also suggested, the 8HP seems the 'smart choice' - HA - and ZERO to do with cost, but I am sure 8 speeds will be better than 6 speeds - HA - maybe.  I will purchase a new 8HP,  Thanks.  ELVIS.
    • Nobody said anything about getting a "...cheap Falcon box..."- it was JUST a question about a specific transmission.  And YOU may have a problem with not enough $ - HA - I do NOT - so please keep your comments like you are some financial guru to yourself.  BUT - much appreciated re the cost of a new 8HP and I twill probably be the way I go.  Thanks.  ELVIS.
    • Most people I know in the BMW world are swapping 6HPs for 8HPs. The 6HP has a big issue with one of the clutch drum bushings wearing out shockingly early which leads to them going into limp mode going into 5th/6th gear as the oil pressure loss from the worn bushing causes clutch slip. Even with the adaptations in shifting the TCU can't bump line pressure enough to keep the clutches from slipping and burning. I've personally looked at a 335d with 6HP28 with one owner and ~90k miles on it and the transmission adaptations were way out of spec and even though it nominally drove ok I'm confident it would have needed a full rebuild sooner than later. Other than that they're fine, but the 8HP doesn't really have weird issues like this to my knowledge and they're in everything these days so pulling them out of crashed cars isn't too hard.
