how would these offsets fit/look on an r33 s2?

im assuming no mods to gaurds?

would fit well and not require any mods to the guards as far as i can tell even when fitting full width tyres to those rim sizes. (235/35 & 265/35). Cant garuantee it will if you plan to dump it on its arse tho...

Also cant comment on whether the spokes will clear the calipers but by the look of the design and the offset it should do.

rears would be ok but the fronts would be swallowed up under the guards with that kind of width n offset- n look shit IMO.

could spacers be used to push them out to fill out the guards more? or would they still look shit?

well spacers are always an option in their own right. but there are several issues with them.

1- they are illegal in most states (defect notice material)

2- it is very hard to get the wheel centred on there well with spacers which = vibration through the steering and excessive wear on your wheel assembly/steering system

3- it can also upset the handling

just thought id post up how i went with the rims:

Fronts: 17x8 +45, 235/45/17

Rears: 17x9 +35, 255/45/17

rears sit flush with guards, fronts sit flush but ended up using a 5mm spacer each side.

make sure she is all bolted up properly n then take it out for a run on the freeway and see if you have any steering vibration. (or does it wander easily or tramline etc)

Hey guys thinking of running XXR 526's on my 33 GTST.

18x9 +35

18x9 +25

Would these for without guard rolling etc? Only thing I'm mildly concerned about is that the spokes may not clear the standard brakes.

maybe, maybe not. at stock ride height probably but otherwise it would be touch n go. Tho u will also get away with it if you run stretched tyres. (but please dont, its sacrilidge...)

Anyone successfully pumped an inch more room out of 33 gtst rear guards?

easy, but there is chance of paint cracking... i'd say i got around an inch out of mine without cracking on the outside at all

great thread ,will post up pics and specs when i get my new wheels . hopefully next week :)

will want to lip them, but that's all

18x9.5 +12 on the front and 18x10.5 +22 on the rears ?i was thinking the rears might need a little flare ?fronts hopefully should be fine with some neg camber witch i'm allready running . but will only know once i get them on .

is this for a GTST? if so you are dreaming. Or crossing the border into mexico in a bad way.

if you can be bothered check thru the 'car parts' for sale section. There was a guy selling rims like this which he ahd on his GTST (red one from memory). There are pics. If its your thing then go for it.

But defect notices are also the cop's thing

i have 18x9.5+12 all round at the moment, and the 10.5+22 is only 3mm more

so yeh... easy fit with a roll/flare or camber. front guard liners will have to be removed

i dont run camber to fit my rears for traction reasons, but with a little pull they fit easily

yeah i'm running 0 camber in the rears and about neg 2 in the fronts , anyways when i get them i will post pics of how they sit before any guard work is done .

And heres it on 18s.

camber; -3deg front / -2deg rears

i couldnt find the forsale thread but i did find this ,thats the sort of flare i want on the rears and even though my rims will be half a inch wider front and back this guy is running heaps lower offsets ,so mine shouldnt be that bad ?

  • 3 weeks later...

Would 18x9.5 +22 wearing 265's all round fit a R33gtst with rolled guards on rge rear and no liners on the front STD guards?

Camber wise I run -3 on the front and -1.5 on rear with around 350 mm centre of wheel to guard.

    • Not sure the US can import anything other than the C34 Stagea's, but if you can and you need to to tow, DO NOT under any circumstances get an M35 Stagea. If it is just as a family car and your country/state allows it, absolutely and definitely get an M35 (3.5L if possible as it is effectively a 350Z) over a C34.

    • Thanks for that, I'll check it all out. I can always do the brakes last anyway if its a problem.  The 16's are super cool, if they do fit I'll cruise around with them for a bit.
    • Well, that's kinda the point. The calipers might interfere with the inside of the barrels 16" rims are only about 14" inside the barrels, which is ~350mm, and 334mm rotors only leave about 8mm outboard for the caliper before you get to 350, And.... that;s not gunna be enough. If the rims have a larger ID than that, you might sneak it in. I'd be putting a measuring stick inside the wheel and eyeballing the extra required for the caliper outboard of the rotor before committing to bolting it all on.
    • OK, so again it has been a bit of a break but it was around researching what had been done since I didn't have access to Neil's records and not everything is obvious without pulling stuff apart.
