Im looking at some LMGT4 18 x 8.5 +20 and 18 x 9.5 +30 rears

looking at fitting the widest tyre possible without too much rubbing. Will the front have any poke or need camber at all to fit a 245 atleast.

I had 245/40 on my old 17x9, my definition of stretch is different to yours of course.

265/35/18 on 18x10

Same size on 18x9

Each to their own

profiles are different... I said 235/45 as it's the most common size, you are talking about 235/40, which is more expensive and is always going to be more stretched as the sidewall is 5% shorter

also i'm not sure the relevance of a pic of a 265/35 on an 18x10

fwiw 235 on a 9 is well within the legal range too :)

I've had 245/40 and 245/45 on my 17x9 wheels and were stretched. 265/35 on my 18x10 are stretched, but my definition of stretch would be different to say, yours, I'm guessing. I didn't say anything about 235/40  . The person asking didn't say anything about prices, plus 245/40/17 aren't as expensive these days. Yes 235/45/17 is cheaper as it's way more popular. That being said, would you want to run wider tyres that fit into the guards? I'm going to run 255/40/17 on the back of my R31 (17x9 wheels).

Picture was relevant to my "stretch" point (sidewall angle). 245 is slight stretch, 235 would be even more (that was my point).

Plus, 245/40 on a 17x9 +22 was made to fit on my mate's S14 with rolled guards, so that is a real world example (unless S14 guards have more clearance than R32).

hi everyone been reading for a while but not much on rotas

i have decided i would buy Rota-G force.

I want something that sits flush.dont mind if guard rolling is needed

dont want camber or anything like that n the car is still on stock springs

these are the set's that around what i wud like

18 x 9, +35

18 x 9, +27

18x9.5

what offset would look good ?

cheers :)

Sorry:/

Well some guy is selling rims he had on his 350z & they look really nice

I'm thinking of buying them.

18x10+ 12 rears

18x9.5+ 20 fronts

Rota is the brand

What sorts of problems will I come across to get them to fit?

Any help would be great:)

Cheers

will need to roll guards and camber

OR

roll and pull guards a little (flareing not reqired if you run like 245's on the 10's and 225/235's on the 9.5's)

OR

flare both guards to ensure the rims can fit and run the apropriate ammount of rubber

OR

run at landcruiser height

guard liners will have to be reomved to flare the fronts also if you want to go low

Can guard liners be retained if you just roll the fronts and not flare? Is there any benefit to doing so, or does it just lessen clearance?

they can however it's better to remove them as the bolts that hold them in are pretty good as catching tyres if the car is low

also clearace is an issue... my tyres would hit the metal above on occasion so liners would have been destroyed anyway...

also it's a good idea to jimmy up something to hold the cables out of the way in the right front arch

    • I appreciate the detailed explanation, think I understand now. I spent the better part of last night reading what I could about shuffle and potential solutions. I had replaced the OEM twin turbo pipe with an alternate Y pipe that is separated further away from the turbo. The current one is from HKS and I had a previous pipe that was separated even further away, both have shuffle. I had heard that a divider can be welded in to the OEM pipe to remove turbulence, and figure that aftermarket pipes that are more separated would achieve the same thing. From what I read, most people with -10 turbos get shuffle due to their size, though it's a bit less common with -5s on a standard RB26. I think Nismoid mentioned somewhere it's because OEM recirculation piping is common in Australia with -5 cars. It seems that the recommendation tends to vary between a few options, which I've ordered in what I think is most feasible for me:  1. Retune the MAP or boost controller to try to eliminate shuffle 2. Install OEM recirculation piping 3. Something called a 'balance pipe' welded onto the exhaust manifolds. I don't know if kits for this are available, seems like pure fabrication work 4. simply go single turbo My current layout is as follows: Garrett 2860 -5s HKS Racing Suction intake MAF delete pipes HKS racing chamber intake piping hard intercooler piping,  ARC intercooler HKS SSQV BOV and pipe Haltech 2500 elite ECU and boost solenoid/controller HPI dump pipes OEM exhaust manifolds HKS VCAM step 1 and supporting head modifications Built 2.6 bottom end All OEM recirculation piping was removed, relevant areas sealed off I'll keep an eye out for any alternative solutions but can get started with this.  Only other question is, does shuffle harm the turbo (or anything else)? It seems like some people say your turbo shafts will explode because of the opposing forces after a while and others say they just live with it and adjust their pedal foot accordingly.
    • That worked out PERFECTLY! Thank you big time to JJ. He was able to swap me his stock diff. He drove all the way to me as well. Killer! Removal & install was pretty straightforward. The diff itself is HEAVY. So that’s a 2 man job.  Man does the car drive nice now! Couldn’t have worked out any better 👌
