I'm also interesting in getting the 'SKYLINE' lit up as well. I remember that there used to be a tutorial around here somewhere, but I have spent the last hour searching and came up with nothing.

Cheers.

to make it el glow http://www.luminousfilm.com/ im sure u can find wat u need. u will also need an inverter as el needs ac volt to work. maybe if i decide to do mine i will make a tutorial. this should help to get you started.

hey. i tryed this on a`series2, but it will not pull out. does this just pull out?, felt like it would not even move?

Have you removed the 4 nuts from the inside of the boot?

Then there are about 3 clips holding it in place, which come off easily

i just started doing this, loox good. ill post my pix up later when it all drys. i done black gloss on a silver garnish. i found it beta to tape arond the letters first, then sand it, that way you could sand the edges of the letters were some of the tape may of grabed, then you can paint the hole 3d leters perfect on the sides as well.

i just finished painting my rear garnish :( black and the badge "chrome". Its beautiful (well it was till i ruined it by tryin 2 remove a bit of tape glue tht was left behind :) ) anyways.. goin to have to redo again because i dont like the so called chrome paint. its more of a shiny silver. Ive looked around as well to find nothing.

any ideas where i can get sum decent chrome paint or whatever it is?

hey, ive tryed all the chrome paint.. it will come out shinny silveer.. and some times depends on the surface.. i found a rock comes out shinny with chrome paint.. i got mine from buinnings.. but, the only way to get chrome effect is to get it chrome dipped.. i re-searched for months and kepts my eyes out for 2 yers.. hope it helps a bit...

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
