hey,

not long ago my oil pump died resulting in a dead RB26.

what oil pump should i get? N1?

ive seen a Greddy one on Nengun for $1282.64 delivered.

are there any cheaper ones then this?

also where can i get a water pump from? cant seem to find one for the rb26.

should i get a sump baffle as my car will frequently be going sideways?

where can i get this sort of stuff from?

umm water pump just buy it from nissan. yes you can get a cheaper oil pump than the Greddy again buy it from nissan. either stock or N1 if you wish. sump baffles are a good idea if you are doing any track work on semi slicks as for drifting why you want to drift a GTR is beyond me. they are not really suited for it. you'd be better off with a GTST, rwd and nearly 300kgs lighter!!

I just bought an N1 water pump from Unique Autosports - $405 to Perth

And will probably get my N1 oil pump from there too as I can't find anywhere cheaper. Apparently you can just get a standard oil pump and put a stiffer spring in it but I don't know how to do that so I'll just pay for the N1 pump instead :)

thanks,

anybody got a number for nissan in brisbane?

im using the gtr cuz i want a quick street car aswell as being able to drift it. im assuming it would be about the same weight as the drift monaro if not lighter.

+ i wouldnt mind doing some track work etc etc.

anyway, do you think a sump baffle is a good move for this?

i will be getting an N1 oil pump

do you have the web addy handy?

So what % flow benefits does the N1 oil and water pumps add over the normal ones, besides costing more?

It's more about reliability at sustained high revs i believe, do a search for some of Roy's posts regarding this, or he might just find his way in here if you're lucky! :D
U obiviously havent bought a spare part through a car dealer before then???

no..

sooo lol :D

are you saying its more.... or less

i mean..

buying the oil pump, would it be cheaper calling nissan and asking for an N1 pump, or getting it through justjap

Lets just say that with car dealers if you needed a spare washer and u could get 1 from a hardware store for around 5 cents, the geniune one a car dealer would sell you would be around $5 instead.

Just Jap will be signficantly cheaper than purchasing it from Nissan

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
