lol you don't have to bump em. if you look up the top of the VIC section you'll see "SAU VIC Documents". All the stuff we publish are stored in there.

A great read, makes we wish i was back in Vic more than anything else, but I think you should assign an editor / proof reader (a fresh pair of eyes, someone who hasn't been involved in it's production in anyway) as a a fair few simple errors slipped through.

I know I'm being pedantic but it takes a bit of the gloss off what it is otherwise a very slick publication. Regardless, well done. :(

Ooosh: Was built in Illustrator on an old G4 tower... so the spell checker was both crap and slow.

Plus - being always a 'last minute' thing, the 'ol editorial step usually gets left out.

However, I've just upgraded to a new Powerbook and am in the process of converting the newsletter template to InDesign - which should make things a bit easier to check/edit.

That's wierd I always thought you'd use indesign for layout.

Hey BTW, is there any way we can get a digital version of the speed mag article on SAU VIC?

I R not mac friendly  I use indesign on a P4 though used to use quark on a mac when I was doing layout work for mags, but that was because I was using the tools I was given, not out of choice.

That's sweet, as i said it's still bloody good, I just realised this is an older one anyways. Issue #4 didn't have any glaringly obvious stuff jump out at me, and that's all that matters, not writing Shakespeare here I know.

    • GTR front looks good. If you don't like it, I'll swap you a rolling shell R33 for it. Give you a fresh base to start with.
    • soon I also prefer the old look. At least I have more clearance for wheels up front now.
    • @PranK I think a few links in the original post need fixing...
    • Has equal chance of cleaning an AFM and f**king an AFM. I think you can work out what happened. When the Hitachi ECU sees the AFM die and goes into the associated limp mode, then it will start and run just fine, because it ignores the AFM and just runs on idle maps that will do what it needs to get it going. But there is no proper load signal, so that's about all it can do. My suggestion? If you don't want to go full aftermaket ECU, then get some R35 GTR AFM cards and some housings to put them in, in the stock location, and Nistune the ECU. Better to do a good upgrade than just replace shitty 40 year old tech with the same 40 year old tech.
    • So my car was recently having trouble starting on initial crank, I would need to feather the gas for it to start up but besides that it would start and run fine. So I clicked the idle air control valve (with throttle body cleaner) and cleaned the MAF sensors (with MAF cleaner). The start up issue was fixed and now the car turns over without the assist of the throttle, but the car is in limp mode and wont rev past 2.5k RPM. From what I understand the IACV would not put the car in limp mode, so I am to believe it is the MAF sensors, but it was running fine before and now I cant get it out of limp mode. I cleaned the MAF made sure the o rings were seated properly. Made sure the cables were plugged in properly, the cables also both read the same voltage. Does anybody know why this is or what could be causing this or how to get it out of limp mode?
