Three cheers to the Sam and whoever helped him.

no worries, will. should be a great day. Duc, helped with the route & Darren helped with the 'southern meet group' and some further roads. also you organised the food afterwards. :)

yes i did. no one is perfect, at night it was fine. during the day with a different car as a cruiser + the speed i was going didnt help. does that mean you aint come?  :)

your gtr still in rwd mode?

Just giving you $h1+ Duc. :)

No offense intended. Sure I'll be there. Yeah the GTR is still in rwd. Tried to get the auto electrician who worked on it before out this week but he's on holidays. Have been trying to get the white GTR ready for sale - it failed its first trip to Regency.

For those who didnt make it, here is a rundown of the cruise.

The 2 groups met up at Ingle farm and headed off. The roads were a bit wet so the pace was quite moderate. On the way down the George we passed a Cop Bike, who promptly did a U turn and sat in behind the 2nd car. He followed us all the way through to Loberthal (How many other clubs get a police escort) at 60 km/hr

When we got out he mentioned he heard some wheel spin and that a cars wheels had crossed a double white line. He let us go without any problems (no "let me see under the bonnet" etc) I guess a group of imports going down the George is usually an indication someone will be speeding or doing something silly, so I guess I cant blame him for following us. It ended up beeing a waste of his time.

After the regroup we headed off to Mt Lofty Summit for a chat. The weater started to turn bad and people went on their own way from there.

It was good to put faces to the names on here. See you on the next cruise, hopefully the weather is a bit better and the roads more challenging.

Yeah the weather turned a bit dismal in the end, I was hoping it would have been nice and sunny like the rest of the week. I only got about 12 Pictures compare to about 50 I got on the last cruise.

The police escort was a bit rare, wonder if he enjoyed the cruise? He didn’t seem too concerned though, just checked our licences and that was about it.

Other than that it was good to catch up with everyone and meet some new people.

Looking forward to the next cruise, hopefully with better weather. Ill post pics sometime during the week.

Cheers,

Sam

My sincerest apologies for not making it out. I didn't get my car back in time (getting alarm installed by Alan at Powerplay Autosound & Security).

I was feeling a bit seedy after the engagement party last night as well :(

I'll try and make it out to the next cruise, it'd be good to meet up with some fellow Skyline enthusiasts!

Cheers,

Alan

My apologies also; just had way too many things to do around the house before I have my 7th right-knee surgery this wednesday.

Apologies to you all, would have loved to show of my silky white pearl Stagea RB25det wagon, but hopefully I will be right to drive again in 6weeks time (I hope!!, see how this knee pulls up).

    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow
    • Good luck on the weekend mate
    • Must have been an absolute nightmare to drive when the power steer was out, the rack ratio/wheel size/caster is all set up for power assistance
    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
