Need to know before 3:30 today so I can drop them off to be pressed into the arms tommorow so I can install for the weekend.

Can anyone tell me if these are the right bushes? They are clearly different sized, however Noltec assures me they are right.

The crush tubes are the right length. So I guess it doesn't matter?

There are 2 different sized bushes, 3 of 1, 1 of the other (per arm) It has instructions for installation, so that isn't the drama. I just can't see how they are the right ones.

Part number N51219 Upper control arm bushes, r32 gtst

Ignore the floppy disk, that is just to hold the bush up so you could see the difference in size

Cheers

Chris

I know its after 3.30 but they are the correct bushes for a 32 I have fitted them to mine. The bushes stick out of the control arm a fair way, make sure when you press them in that the bushes are hard against each other from either side, the crush tube is slightly shorter than the 2 bushes so it is set in a mm or 2 each side.

Sorry I didnt take pics but I did have to return mine to the press since I hadn't pushed them in far enough and the assembly was too wide :D Was fine once I pressed them enough. Make sure you put the different bush in the right place too

oh and the bush only pushes as far as the machined part of the brass. Once they are tight each end of the brass tubes are hard up against each other inside the control arm, take the crush tube out and there should be no gap between the 2 bushes

and when you put them in, MAKE SURE YOU DO UP THE BOLTS!!!!

I had a very bad clunk coming from my brand new suspension for a few days, put it up on a hoist and found that the friggin dodgey workshop who fitted all my brande new suspension hadn't done up the Upper - Inner control arm bolt, so the nut had fallen off and the bolt had half slid out, so it was only held to the body by half a bolt.. front right suspension was just waving in the wind virtually! It was actually hitting the springs, and took all the paint off the springs etc. Last time i ever use that place... EVER

thanks guys,

I took them to a shop and he seemed to think they were the right ones, so I have him putting them in today.

Duncan, are you saying the crush tube should stick out further than the bushes, or that the bushes stick out further than the crush tube?

Cheers

Chris

yeah the crush tube is a mm or 2 shorter than the bushes, so the bushes stick out slightly compared to the crush tube.

Azzurra it must have been a miracle to almost lose that bolt it is an absolute bastard to get in lol

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
