Everyone pays GST and Sales Tax when Customs reads these kind of threads and asks questions.

Ask a certain member on the forums who had his terbs stopped at Customs.

ken i was under the impression if the item imported was under $300 there is no tax/gst charged on the item but i may be wrong (i am half the time )
