Another fantastic Team Wang weekend away - I highly recomend these to anyone :(

Rain hampered play at the track today, but some good times were recorded by all. The drive up yesterday (via the Buxton Igloo burger stop) and last night's pre-race 'quiet drinks' were not without incident. Ash and his fabulous shoulders made friends with the locals :D

Top work from Blaise in becoming a Benalla icon - and man of the match must go to Chris 'take one for the team' Scotsman.

Photos are uploading right now...

In the mean time - read this. I'm sure we can all relate :(

All I can say : AWESOME

Havent had so much fun in a while, drank hard, laughed, joked, got to know a great bunch of Freindly people!!! Without all the guys that came, it wouldnt have been such a great outing!

My car got rammed on the way up by a angry hill billy, no damage, but ill still report it, if anyone sees a beige 2WD hilux with a black bullbar and MOTABITZ stickers on it - let me know!!!

As for all the shenanigans from last nite, our freindly neighbours topped the list of laughs! When it got all ugly, it was me and brisby who kept guard on the vehicles in the carpark, from possible vandalism (or ramming).

All in all a great weekend, great racing, good outing, hope everything works out for you chris! The way home was interesting, with Pete in the Silver 34 docking with the Camry for a alcohol refuel. My TRD V SPEC N1 rally camry had a huge I LOVE WANG scribed into the bumper, people drove past staring angrily, while Brisby carried on and gave them some advice - "SUCK PISSSSS"

All done:

As always - I have them all in hi-res should anyone want.

This one is my fav - not the best photo, but look at Pete's hand :(

*Note - these were all taken with my new Canon S2is. Has a 12x optical zoom which makes a massive difference in the quality of the racing shots.

Well

My car got rammed just outta healsville and we stopped to ring police, as we were leaving this crazy man ran out of the pub and offered to wash James car window with a squeegee.

Brisby was screamin something at him, I had to stop the car and hold up traffic cos I nearly crashed laughing. I have never seen ne funnier shit before, he was jumping up and down like a madman down the main street.

Great pics James. Another epic weekend. I was a bit soft wang myself, but great to see so many others step up to the plate and embrace everything Benalian. Roll on the DECA weekend and what will probably be the last Team Wang roadtrip of 2005....

Had a great weekend... i speak for my self and ang when i say Benalia was an experience... We both really enjoyed ourselves... Shame we weren’t recovering from big hangovers from the previous night to go a little harder but still enjoyed the night... ohh yea and Winton track day was good too..

Great pics James, just in the process of editing plates out and mine shall be posted. None as exciting as yours, I am sorry to say.

Awesome weekend, really was good. Funniest moment for me the new Benalia "dob in a hoon policy"

Calm Down Calm Down :D

Sorry nothing much and if anyone wants high res, let me know. :)

Good work Alan :D

Hehe - poor Westy caused all sorts of ruckus on the radio with his 'parade lap'.

Abused: I'd recommend just coming up for a weekend to see how things run. All you need is a few basic items on the car - and a CAMS licence.

    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is may e 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Dose anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
