Oh yeah... I forgot we had broken the railway crossing. Oops.

And yes - to confirm that although there is likely to be some genetic lineage, that isn't Brisby in the speedos ;)

It was I that made the angry pub bogan do a burnout.

While we were hurling abuse at them, i just screamed do a burnout - he goes I GOT NO CAR - and I kept shouting it at him so he picked up his feet and did a burnout with hes shoes.

I almost fell off the balcony laughing.

As for mother and daugther pics - I think Aaron (wrx boy) had some actual video footage. You wouldnt wanna see the mothers face, it was one only a benalian daughter could love.

Well well well. I don't know where to start, the broken rail crossing I could hear dinging away at 3am as I sat in the loo, the "Benalia" signs which once read "Benalla", or possibly even Ash's local bogan spinster asking "Av ue's eva ad a Mother\Daughter threesome". I still don't understand how we havn't been banned from most of rural victoria ;)

For those who don't know we were having a bit of a shouting match with some locals from the second story of our pub\accomodation when the bogan spinster decided to start flashing her privates, this of course was enough to get the main trouble starters downstairs, Ash, Brisy and myself. I don't know what was funnier, her persistance with ash, her foul mouth and stories or watching Matt dress up as Ash and try to convince them he was Ash so she'd shut the hell up!

Over all a VERY fun weekend and looking foward to the next, for those who havn't come along yet, even if you are not on the track you should make the effort, it's well worth it!

Photo's to follow....

looked like a good day!! but i dont think my car is track ready yet

I think 3/4 of the ppl that stayed weren't doing the track day. It reminds me of that ad on TV. "Is the real sport at your club drinking?"

LOL...yeh, but as great as these weekends are, and they are great. They are still primarily about going to the track...if getting hammered and playing up is what your out for, dont wait until the next track day just give me a call this Friday afternoon

Now there is an offer!

Good summary Adz and sorry StarionTurbo to take that fine credit away from you of getting a bogan country guy to do a burnout on foot

lol sounds like a fun weekend had by all

adz thanx for the explanation of "Benalia" lol classic

btw guys ive heard of quite a few stories of mother/daughter swingers in benalla.... yuck its like visiting tasmania again

To cut a long story short...

We were heading to Winton for round 3 (I think) - I had just got my handheld GPS, and thought it would be fun to bring it along. It is an American product (I bought it online).

The unit has a whole bunch of cities pre-programmed to aid navigation, so I searched for Benalla... nothing. Except there was an entry called 'Benalia' where it should have been.

So... obviously a typo from the Garmin people entering the city names, yet we had a chuckle. After a heroic amount of beer, it made sence to change the name of the 'welcome to...' sign we could see from the pub.

And so - it began...

Photos from that weekend are here:

    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
