If you have a modified car and are worried about insurance get it engineered and register the engineers certificate with the RTA.

This will make all modifications listed legal, as pretty much any modification is illegal with out an engineers certificate

And if you look at the prices for some of the tests they want done it is cheaper to have no insurance and pay for an accident every 5 years or so.

My gfriends brother is trying to get his 2002 lancer which he turboed recently engineered and the prices were laughable

i just recently had a claim with them, still am going through a claim with them....

Can't say i'd EVER insure a car with them again unless they were my very last option, and i mean dead out of options, even if driving un-insured was looking bad.

how old are u and what car you got? so we know what kinda scenario it is...

well my experience with just cars has been really really good. I got ran into sunday night. Rang them monday, they were very helpful and responded very quickly. Tuesday car was towed to panel beaters. Now its at the panel beaters getting quoted and parts already ordered. Great stuff!

But then again. I wasnt at fault at all. :O

i've had both my silvia and my skyline Gts-t i have now insured with them i rang them today to get a Price on insuring the GTR r32 i am looking at

SAME price all

Sivlia 529 a year

Skyline Gts-t r33 529

Skyline GTR r32 529

3rd party

i listed mods on there they i don't think r ok like none of my shits engineered

i went and talked to one when i got defected he like dw about it i think i better take my computer off my insurances cause i know its a big fine for them like heaps

and they knock me back just for that

they wouldnt give me agreed value on my car, nor could i pay by the month at no extra charge, had to use their prefered repairer and gave me rediculous excess's.

i went to shannons and got agreed value, pay by the month at no extra charge, choice of repairer and half the excess!

im 21yo in perth with modded R33 sedan...

Hey guys, feel free to PM me regarding any general insurance enquiries you may have, I work for Shannons Insurance and may be able to be of assistance.

Cheers!

Matt

you also work for shannons.. i'm sure that doesn't hurt..

Your right, but Just Cars quoted me a cheaper premium.....

Lower premium, but lesser cover with less options.

I decided that the lowest premium wasnt always the best choice.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
