Can't translate fully from work, but the parts lists certainly make it look like they are bringing back a new improved version of the Zero R..

Look further down the page at the 2005 specs.

Nismo GT block, HKS 2.8L kit, VCAM, HKS GT2530's etc. Looks like the mouldy Zero-R's are making a come back :P

wow....so there will be a "SUPER TWOOGLE" after all......hell they even copied our turbo set-up....lol

I would even take one of the original ones, with a little freshen up :P

BTW Ben Ellis' article was wrong they are an overbored 2.6l to 2.7 (well 2.688) not a stroked 2.8 litre.

Crazy that they were 16 million yen at the time when the regular GTR was 4.5 million. Also interesting that they quote the stock GTR as weighing 1700kgs, but their zero-r as 1480?? how did they save 220kgs? by adding heavier brakes, heavier wheels etc??? doesn't make sense to me, but still an awesome car.

the front page of the HKS website's read "HKS Zero R begins to move again" for about a week now. So yeah, refreshed Zero-R's just in time to cash in on the people umming and aahhing over buying the Nismo Z Tune. Factory warranty too :P

    • Welcome back mate ,I also joined in the early 2000's , since then I have been in and out a few times depending if I had a skyline in the garage.  I have the another one now , so signed up and back with the SAU team.
    • I used "different strokes for different folks" quite pointedly as honestly, there is no wrong when it comes to choosing what you like.  I always day dreamed about flappy paddles with fast shifts in a sporty RWD Turbo and to me the sound and feel of it cutting through gears in a steady stream is exciting, engaging, and keeps the car better balanced - I *also* like h-patterns, but I find them more engaging and fun in a nice hoonable peaky NA thing.  Type-R Integra/old school NA rotary, things that are raw and need all the rpm where picking the gear and getting it sky high is part of the engagement of the whole thing despite the fact that they probably need closer ratios and faster shifts even more than a 3l turbo thing haha
    • If I wasn't allowed or really had the desire to visit China it would probably fit in my carry on, but I have no desire, Japan would be nice during Cherry Blossom time though I might need to chat to Jackie about that, that should actually be an easy conversation though as she is currently talking about another cruise, cruise ship to Japan, a week in Japan to see the sights, then cruise home I may even be able to find those OEM NC Recaro seats over there that I cannot find here 🤔
    • What do you mean?  In between the two I shared?  They're the same boost   This will be insane.   A mate has a GTSt with a 9:1 RB30/25 with Tomei 256 cams and a Borg S362SX-E that is already a beast from the basement but has a stock 5 speed and will probably get a ZF8 one day.  After the G35 900 RB26 setup I'd be lying if the topic of "Wtf would a divided G35 be like on this thing?" idea hadn't come up - you'd definitely want a wide boost control range setup with it, as even with the less responsive and potent S361 we're having to ramp boost in from very low levels in the early gears.
    • ZF8 is faster, wider ratio spread, better in every way. I do not dispute this. But I have brain damage and I want the feeling of shifting gears. To me the extra work is fun, but I daily an automatic and in the US like 90+% of cars are automatic so a manual transmission is an "exotic" experience. If I want an automatic I've driven an F80 M3 with DCT more than a few times and it's incredibly capable but it's emotionally vacant to me.
