R32 Gtst Power Steering Help!

Hey Guys and Gals,

My power steering in my 1992 r32 has gone, and the HICAS light on my dash is now constantly on, i have checked power steering levels and had a general 'look around' concerned areas but cant see anything, Does anyone at all know what is causing my power steering loss???

any info or help is greatly appreciated!

urgently need help, its the only car i have, my only way around!

For a start you can check error codes on the ECU. Check for speed sensor input (i cant remember the code off hand) No input will mean the ECU thinks the car is at adle all the time. It will usually cause the steering to be very light and then after 5 mins or so it will go heavy and the light will come on.

Also check the hicas control unit under the rear parcel shelf. There are 2 plugs, make sure they are both plugged in properly. Having one of them unplugged will lead to heavy steering and the light staying on.

one of the connectors near the rear laft solinoid was not clipped in properly, also the ecu near the parcel shelf wasnt bolted in to good and was hanging around abit...

all is good now, thanks for the help.
