Guys, some new information has just come to my attention. This contradicts a lot of the original post in this thread about this show 'n' shine, and i don't know what to make of it. apparently this is stated on the entry form for the show

• Submission or delivery of this form to the Ford Show N Shine signifies acceptance and willingness to comply with all show policies and procedures.

• Confirmation of your entry will be provided upon receipt of your fee of $10.00/$15.00 per vehicle entered. Your entry fee(s) must be received no later than close of business Friday November 4th 2005.

• Make cheques payable to FPV & XR Owners Club of ACT.

• Entries will have 1 ½ hours of set-up time, from 8.00am to 9.30am on November 20th, 2005.

• Vehicles will be on display from 9.30 am to 4 pm. (vehicles must remain until show finishes)

• Vehicles must be removed from the grounds site by 5.30 pm.

• Judging begins from 11 am. Awards will be announced at approx 2 pm.

• Every entrant’s vehicle will be judged.

• Each entrant will need to provide a drip tray for each vehicle. This is mandatory.

• We reserve the right to refuse any entrant at our discretion.

• There will be no refunds due to bad weather or circumstances beyond our control

So if this is the case, i don't think any of us will be able to enter our cars, and i don't particularly want to look around at a bunch of Fords

Ok guys, i found the error.

It appears there are 2 (read: two) show 'n' shines on Sunday.

Marques in the Parks is being run by the Morris Minor club ACT and is a FREE Event.

the FPV & XR owners club are also hosting their Show 'n' Shine which is a paid entry event. this is not the one we want to go to.

That's how i understand it. I don't know how many of your are famliar with John Knight Park, i went for a walk there last weekend. It's got a big grassy area, which is where the ford people are going to be, since they need drip trays. The Morris club (Marques in the Park) people might either be there as well, or in the carpark at the top of the park. there was parks for about 100 - 150 cars in the carpark at a guess.

We'll probably find out more on the morning, it doesn't start until 10am, and we're planning to get there at 8am when setup begins.

but yes, there are 2 show 'n' shines in the same park

i went and had a bo peep at this a couple of years ago (maybe last year?) and all the cars were in the grassy area, but there was a strong ford presence.

the set up could have been one big show n shine but the ford blokes have awards etc...??

might be similar this year??

I think you're right. the ford guys seam to have it setup as a fair dinkum show 'n' shine, where as the Morris club guys just wanted to get other car clubs out to show off. they're the guys that invited all the other car clubs like REACT and SAU to it.

F.Y.I.

And I'll see those of you that can make it on Sunday,'K?

Well that makes it easy for us then, no one will be there when we arrive to park. Should be a good day, i'm excited.

Remember, MACCAS BELCONNEN (opposite the college) 7:30AM depart 8:00AM for JOHN KNIGHT PARK so we can have the SAU crew together

    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
    • It's needed for rolling idle up, and I think it is a decider on VCT also.
    • I mean, not really. Link ECU's can absolutely still have errors from the ECU thinking it's getting a sensor it's not expecting. I would imagine the speed at the ECU level in Nistune does absolutely nothing anyway? I assume the ECU does not do any fancy TC stuff with regards to front+rear wheel speed or anything of that like anyway. Someone who uses Nistune may be more fluent in it.
    • Not yet quite as bad as what we've seen a Jim Berry clutch do in an R32 GTR though when it decided to cut a chassis rail in half... Still very very gnarly and a great reason to avoid.
