Does anyone know where I can buy an Odyssey battery in Adelaide?

My 700 died while I was in the US :)

Or is there an alternate small battery anyone can recommend, that I can buy locally? I have i/c piping through half of my battery tray, so I need a small battery.

Hi Andrew

I dont think they sell Odyssey, but there is a battery wholesaler on Research Rd Pooraka near the Bridge Rd end.

Independant Battery Distributors - (Largest Range - All Types Available)

94 Research Rd Pooraka SA 5095

ph: (08) 8260 6111

hope this is of some use.

I purchased a battery from them a few years ago and they were quite helpful.

Ever since I heard bad news regarding Odyssey and the customer service, I've been using Optimal gel cell. I have used a blue top and currently a yellow top battery. I had no problem with them so far.

You can purchase them cheaply from the battery shop on Research road.

I ended up going to Independant on Research Rd and the guy was quite helpful. I ended up getting a EXT30L for $209, which has nearly twice the cranking capacity of my old Obyssey, and I made up a new battery bracket and managed to queeze it in the small space available. Works a treat!

Good choice Andrew. If you'd gone for another Odyssey it may well have ended in the same result as your last one.

I made the mistake of buying an Odyssey a few years back - very bad experience (both with the product and the company). Ask around about Odyssey batteries and see how many have failed within a very short time frame.

I've been running a D34 Yellow Top Optima for about 2-3yrs now and it has never missed a beat - the car often sits unstarted for months. The only downside with the D34... it's big, and bloody heavy (almost 20kg from memory).

well look who's back from the 'dead' :D How have you been Matt? We have been missing you around here :D You'd better bring that beast out on a cruise in the near future! If you don't have time to drive it, I'll be happy to take her out for a run hehehe

heya andrew u should have called leeroy they get cheeep odyssey from that place.

ill b home monday for the week try to say hi if ur not too busy

nah Matt - Indepenent don't do Odyssey anymore due to warranty issues. Yep, will give you a buzz Monday or something. Are you in Palmerston atm?

thanks williamsF1, but I needed a battery immediately, so the group buy situation was no good.

Mate If Caterpillar sell a battery that small I'd be getting one of those. Cat make by far the best battery on the market. And they are very well priced. Their batteries come with a 5 year warranty, and they are all made to with stand industrail conditions. I have been using them the past 8 years for both work and in my own cars and can not fault them at all, and I have put them through their paces.

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?

LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
