as in paid members?

you cant have it only for "club" members as not every state has a club, and then there is all the international people blah blah.

Also to note... what would traders be advertising too, they pay good money for the volumes of people.

Cutting to paid members in total (maybe) about 400 people?

not good from 20+ tho

it's not a bad idea....quite a few forums have it so guests can't read them.

stops people being able to read about cruises, or other things without being logged in..

the trouble is you get a lot of people who browse first, and then sign up, and if you take that away you'd probably get less members joining.

but if u really wanted to read the info you would join?

meh.. just an idea :)

and maybe to stop scammers make it so that you need to be a member for 3months or certain number of posts in order to view the For Sale threads?

A few forums have this too such as OCAU :P

it has been covered many-a-time before mate

use the search button is your so inclined to find out more info

The whole 3-months/min post count etc etc.

Much debated with the same emphasis in the end that...

it wont stop dodgy traders regardless

I agree, i have only been a member for a handful of months with very minimal posts. I would still want to have the privilege of being able to buy and sell an item when i want/need too, hence putting the 3months/number of posts out the window effectively.

And if people don't want others knowing about a cruise "Police" then why post in a public forum? Call a few of your mates that you have met on one of the public cruises and i'm sure they will be more than willing to go for a nice drive with you.

Alternatively there could be a section for paying members which is exclusive and can't be seen by any other pubilc or non paying members. Who knows this could already be in place as i have not got a paid membership yet (still waiting for my car)

my 2c :D

Yup each state that has an official chapter (NSW, VIC, QLD, WA) has a members only section for their paid members. I think the NSW and VIC ones have been around for a couple of years now.

SAU dosen't condone illegal activities (too-gay runs in the hills, street drags, stealing etc) so there's nothing to hide from authorities either. If it can't be discussed in public, then it shouldn't be discussed on SAU.

If you forced people to sign up all it would result in is less people using the forum as a resource, and more idle users who don't actually post, all they do is sign up and lurk.

    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
