Hi All,

Just a reminder that Drag Wars is on this weekend, so make sure to get down and support the event, either by entering or spectating. This is the last dedicated high-tech event for the year, so make sure you come on down. Details below.

Cheers

Paul

After a successful return to Quit Motorplex last season the popular Street meet for Vehicles powered by 4 cylinder , 6 cylinder and Rotary powerplants returns on Saturday night October 15. A fully prepared track awaits the 140+ Hi Tech racers who will converge on the Quit Motorplex for a bit of quarter mile action with some great trophies and prizes up for grabs!

There will be trophies and prizes for the quickest time recorded in each of the categories plus trophies and prizes for the winners and runners up in each of the brackets.

Handicapping will be the Dial Your Own (DYO) index system which means anyone can win!

This is definately one of the great Hi Tech events of the season and chance for everyone to blow the cob webs out after the winter break.

There will also be a burnout competition with great trophies and prizes for the winner and runner up.

So mark Saturday night October 15 in your calendar for the annual Hankook Performance Tyres 4+6+Rotary Drag Wars - and remember - "If ya have an eight...leave it at the gate!"

Go to www.motorplex.com.au click on the Hankoon 4,6, Rotory dragwars under events and you'll see a pic of my car :) hehe

I won't be there unfortunately ;) I have a family function on that day.

Has anyone seen any advertising for this event, either on TV, radio, newspapers or flyers? Just wondering how much promotion is being given to Hi-tech events.

pauly, the 1st i heard about the event was here in this thread, i would have made an effort to have my car ready if i knew there was a drag event coming up

I actually heard on the radio last night at the gym, but still think there is a severe lack of promotion of this event. Hopefully we can improve that in the future.

The government wouldn't be happy with that though, having publicised nights dedicated to this sort of thing. It would mean less cars to impound, and less stories for the news about all those young hoons in high performance cars. Today Tonight will be feeding on scraps.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
