Ordered one of Sydneykid's Whiteline kits for the GT-T, called one of the major suspension places in Brisbane today (not Pedders!) and asked for a quote on the following, given I will be supplying them with the parts:

1. Remove existing coilover setup (HKS)

2. Fit Whiteline kit - dampers, springs, caster kit, rear subframe kit

3. Fit HICAS lock bar

4. Full alignment

I was quoted ~$700, including labour, he said they'd have the car for a day or maybe a little more. Does this sound expensive to you guys? I can probably get my usual mechanic to fit the bits but it might take longer than a day, plus I want to go somewhere that does this stuff all day for the alignment.

Cheers! ;)

Sounds very expensive to me.

1. Remove existing coilover setup (HKS)

With the right tools and a hoist this is 90 mins work; tops.

2. Fit Whiteline kit - dampers, springs, caster kit, rear subframe kit

4 hours work; tops

3. Fit HICAS lock bar

1 hours work

4. Full alignment

$80-100

So assuming they charge $60 per hour, thats 6.5 hours, so $390 + wheel alignment.

Thats being pretty generous with the hours too, So you should be getting change from $500

Then again i could be wrong:)

The full Group Buy kit is costing most guys between $400 and $500 to fit, including a full on 4 wheel alignment. Add the HICAS lock bar, maybe $100'ish. So $500 to $600 would be what I would expect. The $700 quote is a little high, but not outrageous.

:( cheers :)

Heh ok, thanks guys. This is what I suspected.

I guess I can name names: I was speaking to Fulcrum. I don't mean to criticise them on here, was just finding out a ballpark figure. The guy I spoke too was VERY polite and helpful so I have no issues with that...

I might go and have a chat and let him know that if he can do me a better deal it will be mentioned online, seems a few people in Brisbane are searching for a good place for suspension.

Cheers
