Was just on the news a few minutes ago:

Around Adelaide and North Adelaide 2 guys have been on a rampage, vandalising late model Hyundai Excels. Juming on roofs and bonnets, slashing tyres, keying the paintwork, etc. They have done around 15 cars over the past couple of nights. Police recommended Excel owners dont leave their cars out on the street at night, and if possible to park them in garages.

I know this is a Skyline forum, but some of us may have second cars, or girlfriends or family who own an Excel.

Just though I would let you guys know.

I agree, if they want an EVO why dont they go & buy a real one

(there are still 3 brand new 6.5s at Yorke Mitsi)if not, it's a bit lame trying to make the base model look like the race one.

It's a bit different with the GTSt vs GTR thing 'cause a GTSt is a tough car in the first place. The standard lancer is far from tough -

it's a front drive, atmo 2litre.What more can I say!

i agree, vandalising peoples cars is ****ed up; i know, its been done to me.... :P

Even it is an Excel, it's still someone's pride n joy which they payed good money for. I dunno why you'd want to personally, but they obviously appeal to some people :(

The Excel appeals to me due to its bloody awesome fuel economy!

Wife & I had a '97 GX 3dr that we clocked up 120k on it (daily hack- many trips all about OZ!) The only thing we had to replace - a couple of blown headlight bulbs @ that was it! I gave that thing hell too!

Sydney - Adelaide = ~$100 fuel

Someones pride & joy, daily hack or whatever damaging someone else property is NOT ON :)

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
