I wouldn't get too excited. Petrol will never be "cheap" again. The only question is how expensive will it get? I've heard numbers thrown around by the media ranging from $1.60 to $2.00 per litre by Christmas here in Perth, although I'm inclined to think it will be closer to $1.40 at Christmas time.

yeah thats the problem though. the media and its story spinning. im not saying they'll be the same as they were. just i have seen them decline in the last few weeks if anything.....

and the media said they'd keep rising.....

i was amazed how cheap it was this week end i thought it would have sky rocketed because week end for one and the gp run all the bikers going thru down my way. but it was heaps cheaper than normal

nor unleaded was a 1.19 and ultimate was 1.30 GOLD!! stay like this! or they can keep going down if they like lol.

It is the cheepest time of year you wat till our summer and Northan hemisfer has ther winter we will b F&^44ed i think 70-80% of the worlds population live in the north

Go the bunky laser tx3 turbo fwd 30litres 4 370-400kms

Apparently Spring is our worst time for petrol as the northern hemisphere (Especially the US as they use oil to heat buildings)stock piles before their winter begins, Most experts are now saying it will drop or stay around the same for a while.

I pretty much doubt that 80% of people live in the northern part of the world, India and China hold the most population and while China is in the Northern hemi, India is on the Equator. Dont underestimate the South East Asian population cos they have shit load of people compared to Europe or America.

But anyway petrol was 105 cents in July for reg unleaded, 113 for premium... i think premium at Mobile last night was 125, I dont use premium cos the commodore dont need it.

reg unleaded here is 1.18 at the pump. 1.14 with vouchers. havent looked at premium but isnt it supposed to be 10c more?

see what they've done to peoples mind set?

"oooo $1.20, how cheap is that, i better fill up!"

when people were bitching not too long ago about it reaching $1.00. they control people's mind, so now we think its cheap, because we've seen it a lot worse :O

from what i've gathered the price should come down more.

the only reason it's going up is because people are accepting it, all the scare mongering by the media, and the very slow fact that it's starting to get more expensive to extract, not that we're running out, but we're running out of the very easy to extract supplies, the price rises are totally unjustified though, just look at the breakdown of where the cost of a litre goes, almost all the money that it has gone up by, went straight to the petrol companies.

bah, just bring out hydrogen already.

Last tuesday at home here in canberra it was 1.32 for unleaded, and 1.42 for 98 ultimate

I drove 40minutes up the highway to a rural town and it was 1.22 for unleaded and 1.30 for 98... then i got to sydney and it was 1.15 (with voucher) for unleaded, and 1.25 for 98.. how does this work? its total bullshit if you ask me....

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
