From what I understand the situation was that they axed the skyline due to expense and the car dealers demanded a skyline badged car so they wacked one on these imposters and it stuck. The new GTR looks cool enough but can't wait for engine details, I'm sure it will be a world killer.

Is this the model that is known as a V35 infinity in the states?

Therefore would be badged as a Skyline?

or am I barking up the wrong tree?

modr33s2, you know the R34 and the V35's were in production at the same time right? 2001 was the transition year, and Nissan announced that it was to be the next skyline a while before that.

The skylines always traditionally been a passenger car with the occasional generation getting the GTR model. The move to a V35 sedan in japan was pretty well recieved, even by some hardcore enthusiasts, as it was the Skyline getting back to its grass roots. But, you can't please everyone.

I'm afraid I'm not impressed with the V35 it's just another Euro trash design that looks like a 300zx on Steroids. There's nothing inovative here just less individuality, it could be a toyota V35 and you'd never have a clue. <_< BORRRRRING.

Renault has taken the design soul out of nissan and focesd their effort on the SUV crap that is the latest and greatest.

One of the guys at work informed me that next week hopefully we will have some new version of the Skyline coming to us. Apparently it is waiting at the docks. If I heard right it will be the 2005-2006 model. If it comes through I will try to get some photos.

  • 4 weeks later...

its bcoz the blue one is a coupe, and the other is the four door version.

I have warmed to the V35 350gt they look awesome with a bodykit but I still cant come to terms with the 4 door. I guess as others have stated its the euro and american influences that have changed the styling of the car. But hey if I was handed the keys to one I wouldnt say no!

its bcoz the blue one is a coupe, and the other is the four door version.

Agreed. Also the advertisment for the blue one states further down that it is a 2003 model, so that would also account for the difference in price.

Looks good with body kit, lowered suspension and rims added.

Cheers

Okay, I just thought I would clear this up....the four door one is not a 350GT. It is advertised as such but is only the standard V35 3.0L.

That is why it is so cheap.

The blue one is a true 350GT. We have one at work for sale for $50,000.

And a 260RS Stagea for $40,000....both complied.

    • Maybe also really stiffly sprung track cars. Get the inside wheel up in a corner and all the fun stops. Also me sometimes (rarely) when I have to stand on the brake to convince the diff to drive the wheel that is still on the ground when I'm trying to diagonally get over severe driveway entrance, etc.
    • I feel like I'm missing something. You had an authorised installer come out and install a new alarm. Post install the car doesn't start, and you aren't getting the installer back to fix what they did wrong?
    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
