Werd.

I got a quote from Just Car insurance for the Cefi on Comprehensive Coverage

The stats-

- Im 22.

- Im in WA

- Lost my license in 2003 from Demerit points for 3 months

- Lost my license in 2005 from Reckless driving for 9 months

- Never had insurance on the car before

- Insured as 6cyl turbo manual etc

- Agreed value of $11k + $1.5k wheels

- Notified them of mods like suspension, exhaust, racing seat, fmic etc

- $1300 for the premium + $1200 excess for accident and $900 on theft.

Not bad I thought!

Im going to try for an agreed value of $15k + wheels but I thought considering my driving record and the car type!

From what i can see with insurance, its heavily based on location (post code)

Im 23, lost my license once for excessive speed, and to insure a stock cefiro(!) was $3033!!!!!

fark, i mean i only live in the second highest location for car theft in australia.....

need to find a relative from the country :D

I got a quote of about $3500... but thats when I was 18. I also didnt list all the mods... and have done more since...

If anyone has 3rd party fire and theft with them, make sure you read the WHOLE policy. With my car if I chose that, I still have to pay all my excesses, and if the car is stolen, they keep the car, and the rego etc, and its only insured for an 'agreed' value of $5000, so doing my sums, I worked out this isnt a good deal.

And Im in Brisbane.

yea i got quoted 1950 in sydnye with JCI......when i was 23 ......stock rb20det ceffy .....an i live in very safe area ! so i went with fire and theft instead .....but i will prolly only go with third party now

its prolly coming down now ...as my third party has come down 150 bucks ....so yea can be expensive

at the time of first payment i was 24, got my RB25DET ceffy insured with shannons, full comp, agreed value of $14K, i paid $12K and they're cool with that, unlimited mods policy for $1150.

i'd never had full comp insurance on a car before, had a clean bill in the last 3 yrs (love the old SA system where a fine from a speed camera didn't incur demerit points).

my old man just got insurance with Shannon's for himself on the ceffy, as I don't drive it any more, so no point having it under my insurance policy.

$55 per month and $300 excess. He's 57 and has a 65% no claim bonus with NRMA :O

When the car was insured under my name with Famous it was $900 per year with $1000 excess. Once the policy on my Skyline runs out I'll be switching to Shannon's as well methinks.

i paid $1050 for full comprehensive, i'm 21 and rating 2, i live in regional victoria, and agreed value on the cef is $11000.

Victorians are worse off because they can only get there full license at 18, where as SA (where i grew up, lol) you get it at 16 and a half. So i've had my full license for 5 years.

lol you guys are lucky.. with JCI, if my car got stolen without me knowing who did it and in the first year of me having it it would cost around like $7k unless the theives would be nice enough to leave my wheels or stereo behind.

The place in WA that everyone goes through here politely refused.

Everyone else pretty much laughed at me.

Insurance? ;) When I applied for insurance on the Stagea - for an agreed value of $18000 they wanted $6900 per year! :O

Holy talitos batman ! Maybe thats because they know the details about the car ? Engine etc.

When I insured my cef the guy at just cars actually know what it was :P Hes like nah dont paint it white, theres too many white ones :)

Did you end up getting 3rd party at least ?

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
