I haven't been hasseled with the R33 GTST, got the body kit and all the other stuff...

In more cases its me following the cop's as there is nothing better to do, and how are they gonna book you for that!

"You were following us in an unappropriate manner!" don't think so...

I get hasled alot...

On 3 occasions i have been defected..

and on another 3 occasions... i have been done for speeding!

:P Not good since i have only owned my car since May 2005!

what did you defected for? how did you clear it? have you been to EPA?

Hell no!!

Too loud.. ...borrowed a silencer for the test

BOV ...I got a plum in

Front Mount ...Was okay with documentation from the place that fitted it.

Zip Ties on front bar ...I got a new GTR front bar fitted

Pod Filter not enclosed ...I got a fibreglass enclosure and secured it

Steering Wheel too small haha.. Qld transport approved

No H Pattern on gear stick ...I drew one on a piece of paper and sticky taped it to my dash for the inspection

No High Level brake light ...pulled apart a spoiler and stuck the light in my parcel tray and connected it up

bald rear tyre ...Got new ones

Having a bigger turbo Meh.. Qld Transport didn't pick it up..

Pollution Control Disconnected ...I got it re-connected

Dam cops!

So yeah... they can't touch me now because everything has been approved by the transport department.... :P

Does anyone know if this would be acceptable in NSW? Also would having an Apexi Power FC & Hand Controller be an issue for defect, if pulled over?

I was driving along the great western the other day coming back from Penrith. I was sticking to the speed limit when from nowhere came a patrol car from behind me. It must have been doing at least 100 to catch up to me (in the 70 zone past kingswood train stn.) He tailed me for a few minutes even tailgating me. After that he switched lanes & sped off past me.

Nice to see my taxdollars being spent to pay such fine officers of the law.

LMAO Get use to it, the police now are more corrupt than the gangster days... You do realise you can pay off a cop, I was in QLD and got pulled over for speeding in my Truck, would have lost my licence, but flash 500 bigones in front of his eyes, and off I go!

cant imagine it would work for all of them, but i'm sure most of them would take it!

always getting pulled over and warned about being defected for doing absolutely nothing wrong.... Fookstick coppers.... makes me want to get my moneysworth when they are not around..... heheheheheheheheheh!

ie what they dont know wont hurt them!!!!

Oh yeah they discriminate on who you are, what your occupation is, where you come from etc..... its hardly a fair system!

do you have a limited amount of time between being issued the defect(by the cop) and having to report to the EPA(where you get it cleared)?

I was defected twice by the same copper in two weeks!! The first defect notice wasn't even due yet!!

:O

ive been pulled over about 16 times in the past 2 months for no reason. they just check my license and rego and breath test me. they check if i have a record or wateva and then send me on my way. best thing to do is cooperate and not be a smart ass as i am becoming. but you cant help it sometimes. they just get on your nerves. ive only ever been pulled over for a defect once in parramatta (and whoevers from around dere would know dat da cops are ruthless there) and once in brighton le sands for doing a burnout at the lights that turn onto the main road across da beach dere. overall as a skyline driver you just have to accept da fact that cops are hunting for p platers driving done up or high pwred cars.

:P

That guy seems like a pain.

I gather by your username + tabs your a girl?

That's pretty full on, especially putting in the H-Pattern and the light defect.

C'mon <_<

Also, last week my dad and I drove back his R33 GTST from Melbourne Airport to Sydney (Central Coast).

Saw 7 police cars in total..

Constantly doing 120km/h in 110km/h zones. Only got stared at.

We were on a road doing 120 in a 100 zone (it changes throughout the way up.. from 110 to 100, to 110 etc..)

Saw a Highway patrol car blended in, it was too late.. (Female driver)

Didn't turn around.. :P

  • 8 years later...

hi i just wanted to know if you guys get pulled over for no reason, like for defects or whatever, or do the cops have certain requirements to be met before they pull you over

This needs to be resurrected - and I wished I didn't have to report this - honestly.

* HWP officer

* Stationed at Hurstville of late

* Tattoos down her L arm

* Penchant for defecting JDMs

* She's caught at least 4 guys with her li'l thingy that measures 100mm off the ground - and that's what gets her going.

* She's confrontational and won't listen to reason.

If pulled over on, north or south of the M5, try and stop with your front wheels on a hump - and that's for starters...

I get followed by certain anal members of my local hwp, but i have only been pulled over three times, all for speeding, 1 warning 2 fines.

All three times complimented on my car. I keep my car exterior fairly stock bar stickers and exhaust to annoy slow drivers in my area.

    • Per Mark Roberts of Sonictune: Mark Robert Author At this time, no. No ETA either 2016-17 models. You will be able to purchase and install a 2018.5+ TCU though   TCU purchasing and pricing info! As we near the release of TCU tuning, I am going to answer some questions I get asked often.   What do I need for TCU tuning? At this time, you will need a 2018.5+ TCU to be able to tune. If you have a 2016-to early 2018, you will need to replace your TCU with the newer version. One good way to know if your TCU is good is if you have auto upshift in manual mode in 1st gear around 6500 rpms. If your manual 1st gear goes to 7k rpm and will hit the rev limiter unless you shift, you have the older TCU.   Why do I need to buy another ecu license/phone flash if I already have it on my ECU tune? The TCU is its own computer module. It is completely separate from the ECU. Because of this, you will be required to purchase a TCU license and, if your tuner has it, the phone flash license required to tune it via phone/bluetooth.   Do I need TCU tuning? TCU tuning is NOT required. However, the faster your setup, the more it will assist in track and dragy time consistency.   If I’m ECU tuned by (tuner A) can I get my TCU tuned by (Tuner ? Yes, since it’s a different module and a completely separate flash, you can have two different tuners. However, it is highly recommend that you have both tuned by the same tuner. For me, my TCU tuning will directly complement my ECU tuning style and features and running my ECU and another TCU or vice versa MIGHT cause some issues. At this time and for the foreseeable future, I will only be tuning my current ECU tuned customers TCUs.     I have a SYVECS AWD controller. Do I still need it? Yes! The AWD controllers main job is to control your AWD system. However, with TCU tuning, you will no longer need the auto-shift function as that will be done through the TCU. The AWD controller will still be very beneficial for racers looking to maximize traction on the launch.     Shift schedule changes: holding gears longer at lower pedal input as well as max shift rpm changes. Please note, the new ECU race rom coming out will address 90% of the shitty drivability issues these cars have through custom maps from myself and Racebox—as well as others I am sure.   Increase shift speeds: as seen in the videos I’ve been posting, the TCU shifts much faster once tuned.   Increased shift pressures: as also seen in the videos, much firmer full throttle shifts.

    • The fancy pants red shock tower brace is finally incoming from MX5 Mania, getting it shipped from 'Merica has been a long and problematic process, and GWR, the 'Merican supplier will not ship directly to consumers outside of the US, Mania basically had to order a heap of them, the colour choice was silver, or red, and we all know anything red adds 5 killerwasps of dynotorques..... Whilst it does fit over a 2.5, and I've seen a few photos and videos of it being installed and fitting, google also says it might get real close to the FAB9 intake front runner, people in the US says it does fit with the FAB9 intake, except for one person who said it slightly touched.......so there is that.....LOL..... As it seems that I am the first in AU to have this combination of parts there's no local knowledge about fitment, so I'm just a willing guinea pig in this endeavour, I'll cross my fingers and toes and hope for the best In other news, I ordered stuff from China  on the same day I ordered the 23° silicone bend from Victoria, the stuff from China arrived a day ago, the 23° silicone bend is still travelling around Australia thanks to Australia Post, and "may" be here next week
    • Very good news...I contacted Racebox about it last night. My car is a 2016 so remains to be seen if it is compatible, requires a TCU swap, or is impossible.
    • What ECU are you running? This is probably the biggest question. If it's a PowerFC, I'd probably change the ECU and get something newer that will handle the injectors in a nicer way.
