Although personally I would not recomennd this (then again im not all that handy with a jack and spanners either).

Its far simpler to take it to your local suspension specialist, have him throw it up on the hoist and use a rattle gun.

*puts shovel to one side*

As a few recent threads are linking here, i thought i'd link

my piccies of when i installed mine..

Coz i'm that nice kinda guy.. :(

P:S Please stop to admire my leet photoshop 5killz on the arrows ...

i am very interested in these pinapples!! i got my hr31 gts pilarless and it axel tramps badly!!! the bush on the bak of my diff(i think its claed a bush thats what i was told) that is between the petrol tank and the diff, the rubebr bit is broken, and im getin that repaired and see if it stil does it after that if it does ill get these pinapples for sure!

Axel Tramp aka Wheel Hop also leads to broken rear ends, this is frame power being surged when the tire hits the ground and the gears being jarred. Also the U-Joints can suffer when the rear assembly moves out of align.

I'll motion that... i found out the hard way.

one night at the strip... Massive axle tramp... my rear end wasn't too good anyways, but that totally killed it.

Diff mount if snapped/damaged and the bush has just about given up the ghost

:uh-huh:

So me gonna be getting some on the R31 :(

I'm still curious as to what actually causes axle tramp tho... I mean my car is 100% in the dry on the street, i get slight axle tramp in the wet on the street but on the 1/4 i get major major axle tramp all with exactly the same setup.

Is it stiff suspension, soft suspension, faulty part, etc etc

Interesting that you set up the axle for drift?:(

If you guys are having traction issues, make sure you tilt the cradle back, not forward. Also, using hardmount (alloy) spacers and cutting back the stock bushes will rigidly secure the cradle to the body, and goes yet another step forward in assisting traction and reducing axle tramp.

Hey benm wot mods have you done to achieve 192kW @ 12 pounds? I have the same car as you and was wondering what was a good mod for the money, after reading this pineapples review i will certainly get some in the near future. But any other ideas, suggestions? Atm i'v got a 3.5 inch stainless cat back kakimoto exhaust and a apexi pod with a home made heat sheild which utilises the stocky snorkel. I will soon be getting 3 inch from turbo and a high flow cat after that wot would you suggest? I just want a pretty tuff streeter and wanna car that can drift a little better (coilovers so damn exp tho, ah well i can have a wish list).

Is everyone aware that there are three ways to install the "Pineapples",

1-Standard-rear subframe alignment normal

2-Drag-rear subframe declined to promote squat

3-Drift - rear subframe inclined to inhibit squat

Another thing to consider is the state of your stock subframe bushes which contain a fluid to minimise hash ride, noise and vibrations.

In my case two of the four had busted and there was severe movement in the rear end, also very noisy over bad roads and severe wheel hopping when launching hard.

Pinapples only work when installed with the original fluid bushes.

You cannot purchase these bushes from anywhere. You can only buy a subframe from a wrecked car and swap the whole thing over- big job!

Instead i had solid aluminium bushes installed that completely lock the subframe rigid to the chassis.

Very responsive steering and rear end control but extreme harshness thru suspension and vibrations from the driveline at 40-45KPH

Computalign in Nunawading jsut installed mine yesterday.

How much vibration did everyone get?

I get an audible vibration when accelerating hard.

Back end shudders and I don't really like it all that much.

Vibraton is the enemy of everything.

    • A 1.5 way is a 2 way. It is just a 2 way with a less aggressive ramp on overrun.
    • The ABS and/or TCS being missing/broken will not cause the engine to misbehave. It just casues CEL to come on and annoy you. The CEL is useless if it is always on, so you have to do the things you have to do to get rid of it, so it can be useful. Being a Stag ECU, then yes, it will not expect TCS to be present. But it will expect ABS to be present and working. You will need to either make the ABS CU talk to the ECU (don't ask me what that will take on an NA R34), and make sure the hardware is working....or, you just need to blank it out in Nistune. Do not persist with the stock ECU. You will just have problems. Gte it Nistuned. Start from there. DO YOU HAVE A BOOST SENSOR? The ECU's boost sensor that it. It is connected to the loom at the rear of the coil cover. Usually rides on the firewall on an R34, but is usually bolted down to a bracket along with all the other crap at the back of the coil cover when a Neo is dropped into another car. If you do not have it, the ECU will shit the bed. So, do you have one?
    • So sadly the fuel pump etc was not it. The pump and filter is new and it is still cutting around 4000 rpm. A read something about ABS/TCS (engine is from stagea and ECU too so no TCS) and i dont know for 100% that my car has ABS. It has ABS "cube" in engine bay but i dont think it works(or at least from my braking experience). Can be something like that?  I will be driving the car next week to Nistune tuner to properly see what is wrong...
    • the Tomei LSD fluid with lsd kit. frustrated that it was shaking the car to crap and affecting everything else negatively, I pulled the diff last night, and removed the lsd carrier, could not find anything wrong, however it seem to be 100 locked up acceleration, and deacceleration, wondering if they sent me a 2 way not a 1.5??  either way I installed the stock open carrier back in place. test drove everything smooth as butter again. no shake, shutter, random, what felt like clutch slip and grab or drive shaft play, etc. something differently wrong in side the lsd. I might bother taking it apart (if possible) to figure out what's going on inside this carrier, as bought too long ago to return.  only draw back is its back to a one wheel wonder.
