According to the WSID website, the Sport Compact event that was original scheduled for Nov 27th has been re-scheduled for Dec 17th (instead of the normal bracket meet). So Drag Warz is back on track. Limited info HERE

c'mon guys and gals....here's our chance to show promoter/sponsors that this a sport worth backing. We need as many entrants/spectators to attend.

Twoogle is keen to race!!

Any idea of cost of entry?

I'd be keen to have a go - never raced in one of these events before.

Just had a look on the WSID website...

EVENT DETAILS:

Competitor gates open: 9am

Spectator gates open: 12 noon

Qualifying: 12 – 4pm

Eliminations: 4pm – 8pm

Entries Close: Friday December 9

Competitor entry: $55 (Driver/Car)

Crew: $15 (Max 3 – must be purchased with entry)

Spectators: $20

Concessions: $15

For $55, I'll definately give it a go :)

It would be nice if they told you how to enter though??

Or do you just turn up on the day?

I should be in - provided that I sort out a few issues and that all goes well at the Drag Day.

And yes, we need as many people to enter as well as spectate as possible to ensure that future SC events continue.

I just got this email tonight if that gives you any more information Grumpz.

Sport Compact action will come thick, fast and VERY furious - Saturday December 17

4, 6 & Rotary Drag Warz Declared @ W S I D – December 17!

Thursday, 17 November 2005 - Posted by Dean Neal & Peter Pike

(Sydney, NSW) The ANDRA Sport Compact racers have received an early Christmas present with the announcement that the cancelled November 27 4, 6 & Rotary Drag Warz event has now been rescheduled for Saturday December 17.

The event, cancelled due to the closure of Ferrers Rd on the original day allocated for the event, will feature all ANDRA Sport Compact brackets (SPORT FWD, SPORT RWD, ALL MOTOR, FRONT RUNNER, OZ MOD, SPORT MOD & PRO RWD ) plus ET (DYO) Brackets for those vehicles and racers that do not comply or do not wish to nominate for those classes.

The event is an official ANDRA Sport Compact event, so ANDRA National records can (and will!) be set on the December 17 date.

Entry forms will be mailed out later this week and a number of Queensland racers have already indicated that they will be attending the rescheduled event.

Jamboree & Compak Attak promoter Ray Box has volunteered to assist WSID to ensure the success of the event. “While we certainly have the infrastructure and skills to run the event we welcome Ray’s assistance with open arms” commented Motorsport Manager Peter Pike.

The ongoing development of the Sport Compact scene in Sydney is an important one and it is envisaged that this first event will serve as the launch-pad for the ongoing development of this unique form of Drag Racing action, with a fun vibe and low stress day of racing planned.

The event will be run as a day/night event and entries will be restricted to 200, so you need to get your entry forms in quickly!

This might be a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyway... :P

Can someone please confirm the correct class to select on the entry form?

I'm guessing it's Sport RWD, but I remember seeing Skylines competing with ET2 (or something like that) at one of the other Sport Compact events at WSID earlier this year.

Just want to make sure I choose the correct class if I decide to enter :)

what about the 2 front matching front seat rule..

in the qld meeting that was a mistake and was going to be amended...

cause i am not going to spend 800bucks for a seat that i dont use....

mark its shane with the cressida mate.

i would suggest that it wont be amended. agreed its a stupid rule, i bought 2 seats to meet the rule. i think as long as the seat in the passenger side is ADR approved and able to be used on the street it should be fine.

unless some one has put in a rule change submission and paid the money to have it heard, it wont be changed, and hence you will get pinged at sydney if they logged you in qld for it. i would be contacting Jason Ohallaren about this other wise you will have problems mate.

i would suggest they wont change it as they want the class to be seen as the street registered class.

now you AWD boys have enough for your own 16 car field i wish they would seperate the class to make it fairer for the other skyline guys to get into the 16 car s/rwd field. i think this is part of thhe reason people arent racing at comp meets, cause they dont see themselves making the 16 car field.

Shane :D

ECRO33, nominate for sport rwd and if you dont make the 16 car field in sport rwd they will drop you back to et2.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
