Most decent import dealers offer a warranty, turn up with cash and you will find that they will drop the price. Try AJM Motorsport on Main St, Kangaroo Point, they are gave me a good deal.

Cheers

Chris

Yeah I bought my Stagea through AJM and they have a good selection of cars there.

But if you are going to come down to look, there are about 4 dealers in Slacks Creek area and about 4 or 5 dealers scattered along Logan Road, on the southside, (these are just guesses).

Whichever dealer you do go through, be prepared to pay more than a private car, but expect a warrantee.

Know what type of car, in what state and your price range and stick to it, and try to push dealers as far as they can go on the price.

Good Luck!

Rite Price are actually one of my clients, but I wouldn't buy from Richard... more like the Wrong Price.

I headed down to Springwood to get mine - ended up over at Motorman Imports where Derek did me a pretty good deal and went out of his way to find exactly what I was after. Looking back, I probably could have got mine a little cheaper, but I was young and dumb and rushed into it a bit...

well, i bought my car from street machines and they were awesome

i paid more than other examples i looked at, coz it was a nicer car

got an inspection done, street machines were quite happy to fix all the (minor) problems found with the car

had it over 3 years and it hasnt missed a beat

id have no dramas recommending others to buy a car there

I would have to say stay away from rite price cause they are way to over priced but they do have some nice cars. I went to get mine from there and they didnt get bak to me so I kept goin bak pushin and pushin with the $$$ ready to go and they wouldnt come down 2k with a trade.

Go to Auto import centre in springwood, they were excellent, always kept me in the loop nothin was to much trouble, my only complaint is that mine wasnt complianced at the time and it took a month to actually have the keys in my hand rather then the promised 2 weeks, but it wasnt their fault it was the compliance people. They were very neg on their prices and they fixed paint damages got parts fixed etc at my request. they even gave me a good price for my trade and also gave me two movie tickets (doesnt sound like much but it all adds up).

AJM is also good and have a reasonable range but if ur tradin make sure the car is spotless cause they pick it to pieces and give u nuthin for it, but they have some really nice cars and they do track you down something if they dont have what you want, but be prepared to pay a little extra.

I have a mate that knows a guy based in forest glenn on da coast who imports car and sells them off (apperantly a hobby) anyway my mate got a soarer from him for dirt cheap not mad nick either. PM me if you would like me to look into this guy I personally never saw his cars but I heard he does good prices

AJM fcuked us over hardcore. They lied to us right from word go & I am NOT afraid to say it.

The guys at Street Machines are a little up themselves and they are FAR too overpriced.

Auto Shop at Moorooka is aiit. They are fairly helpful.

In all seriousness though, it's just easier with an importer. I mean, you can't walk in and walk out with a car that same day, but you get WHAT you want for the pice you want to pay. We went through SVi. <------- Check it out, FREE BUSINESS PLUG! :OSVi

Yeah, Autoshop is pretty good and they would get u a pretty decent car.

Also, im currently buying a car from japan through SVi the guys there r very helpful as well. havent had any dramas so far.

About AJM, bought a car off them b4 as well and did NOT have any problems for the whole year till i sold it. a bit over-priced as usual so i lost some money on it. but at least it had no dramas.

    • I've got a 2011 J50 that I imported six years ago. The unmodified factory AV system date and time has always been correct ( Japanese timezone of course ) up until last month. About two weeks ago, at engine start, the system wished me a happy new year ( in Japanese of course ). I can't think of anything that would make the system think that the date had changed, unless the GPS component has failed/reset somehow ? I checked the GPS reception in the system settings, and it can still see the satellites. Has any other J50 owner had this happen ?  It's no biggie, just annoying that it tells me the wrong date anytime I start the engine. 😅
    • Love following your adventures on IG, hopefully if you're still around in Japan when we visit again wouldn't mind going for a few beers with you (that's if you're keen on hearing how I hate Nissans).
    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
