Well, I thought I'd practice what I preach and complement Ken and the boys @ Hyperdrive for fixing a problem with my car that had been bothering me for a couple of months.

Took the car in, took on of the guys for a drive, came back in, bang bang bang, problem fixed. 20 minutes of my time and a very large saving of money had I taken it elsewhere.

Thanks for your help Ken and Hyperdrive, it is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Jason.

I think letting others know if you have a good experience somewhere is what this forum is for !

I think at times... we should be able to also say if we have a bad experience somewhere too, whatever happened to freedom of speech on public forums?

What is a usefull thread then??? This is a car forum - A post about a workshop will be helpful to people if they are looking for somewhere good to take their car.... won't it???

Hyperdrive are a SAUWA sponsor - our club considers each sponsor carefully before adding them onto the team - the majority of us have had great experiences there (especially that time on the workshop bench ken - you were great :D ) and word of mouth is great.

But if everyone posted their good experiences and bad experiences - the forums would just get choked ... a little like they are now .... after all we aren't "Choice" Magazine here where we go rating everyone and everything and doing bacteria tests etc.

Useful to me is more the DIY stuff - performance related stuff - little things that we should learn to do ourselves rather than run off crying to a workshop for and wonder then why we are low on their priority list cos they are probably looking at you thinknig "and you own a performance car and don't know how to do this or what this is??". :P

Thats fair enough :) Although I admit I have been here a little while and did not know that Hyperdrive were a sponsor - where can I find stuff like that??

I think shops should remain anon and then pm the person

workshop could have fixxed your car but f**ked up 12 peoples cars trying to learn wat a f**ken turbo does

do it enough times you will eventual get it write

law of averages

all shops are shit sometimes

my 2 cents james

This is why we dont go to Automasters because they would think a turbo is used to power neons. You go to a performance workshop because they know what the hell is going on.

As for them f**king up peoples cars im sure any decent perth Workshop (theres only about 5 or 6 in metro perth). Would happily sort you out if they broke something, in most cases im sure they would fix their mistake and avoid telling you, or do it and tell you after they did it and they replaced it for you with no charge.

All the shops arnt shit, some take more care, some take less, some charge more, some charge less and some just rip you the bork off.

Take the time to look around and what workshops are around, get prices, get advice and get your shit fixed!

No excuses for lazyness.

P.S. its Right not write

Now this thread is useless! Everyone knows the workshops everyones got their preferences and alot of people have close ties with one or the other. Find a workshop, dont just drop your shit in and leave, take a moment to have a chat to them, if they do you a favor buy them a 6 pack they will remember you and take care of you! Its the little shit.

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
