Hey,

Have found a R32 GTR V spec (not a V Spec 2). Can anyone tell me what differences there are between the first version v spec, a normal 32 GTR and the v spec 2???

Does anyone know how to tell if it is a genuine V spec??? i.e Chassis numbers etc???

Any help much appreciated.

Peter.

V Spec's had 17" wheels and Brembo brakes with solid rotors..... that's the biggest give away. If the car you found has these but your not sure about it's legitemacy, check the chassis number with Nissan.

STD R32 GTR's had 16" wheels with Nissan Calipers and Cross Drilled Rotors.

i have nismo/nissan book at home that lists all the chassis numbers for regular 32 GTR, 32 v spec and v spec II. it also shows the colours available, and what spec levels etc. so if you tell me the chassis number i can confirm it.

I beliveve that only the V-spec 2's came with the Brembos, this one does not have them. I dont have the full chassis number but this is the model number that he has placed on the advert. KBNR32RXFSAA. I think some of these letters would refer to paint codes etc. The car is white.

As far as i know all standard R32 GTR's have a finned diff all V-spec and V-spec II have a flat diff cover so the opposite of the R33's. Best way to tell is the model code V-spec II have KBNR32BFS8 AA where a V-spec does not have the 8 on the end and normal GTR's do not have the S or the 8 on the end so yours sounds like a genuine v-spec. all v-spec and v-spec II 's came with brembos from the r33 GTR's the only difference that i can remember is the tyres 225 for the v-spec and 245 for the v-spec II

Cool thanks, Okay so this car is missing the brembo's, The owner tells me that this one is a 92' and brembo equipped versions did not come in until later, is this plausible or just an excuse to hide the fact that somome has removed the Brembos????

yes, it just sounds like a 1992 GTR. Benm, i'll bring the book into work tomorrow and scan some pages or something. or you can read it in person whilst giving me the CD with the last V8 SC round on it :P

Thanks guys, me thinks that this guy is playing games, telling people that it is a v-spec in hope that it will increase his chances of a sale. He has dropped his price $7000. Maybe he has realised that people arent so easily fooled.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
