That's its job! Do you have a nearby Nissan dealer?

Yes, But they only work on Aus delivered nissans!

Locksmith couldn't reprogram it because the CEL is not working

Do you have another dealership you can go to?

Most Nissan dealerships will work on imports

What about a non-franchise shop that works on Nissans and has a Consult tool?

None want anything to do with it.

Just had it on a scan tool, body control module code is coming up. Is nissan the only place to get it re-coded?

Mate of mine had to have his V35 BCM replaced which obviously meant re-coding.

It was a 30 minute job - replace and re-code at Nissan.

As far as I know, yes, only at Nissan but then I am unfamiliar with most scan tools. Maybe ask around if anyone local has Snap-on or a Consult 3/4. Consult will do the job, but unsure as to the Snap-on.

Also, where are you located?

Sorry for the late reply!

Did his require a brand new BCM or would a used one work as well?

Had a locksmith try to recode it but couldn't due to the check engine light not working,

Im northside brisbane

New BCM as his was stuffed.

Quoted from his text message:

"cost was $300 and something + fitting. Can't remember price, but wasn't too bad for fitting as it is all plug in shit and easy for them to program with consult"

He had Ferntree Gull Nissan (VIC) do the lot. Maybe you need to find a competent Nissan dealership or at least a mech with access to consult?
