hey all

What Sikaflex would you use to hold on the rear over fenders on a r33?

Didnt know there were so many types!

I used to use Sikaflex all the time for repairing aluminium boats.

I reckon the run of the mill 221 would be fine.

I should have asked before I replied before, but how much do they weigh? Are they just fibreglass?

Sweet, make sure you give both surfaces a good clean with acetone or similar.

Also make sure you have good clamps to apply consistent pressure across the whole joint. I used Sikaflex for my boot lip spoiler, first go let it sit for 24 hours, it came off after a couple of months. Did some more sanding, re-installed and let cure for 48 hours with clamps, much better. http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/438115-how-to-install-boot-lip-and-roof-wing/ . Are you planning on blending/smoothing/painting them later on? If so I would use 3m panel bond, only stuff I have used that doesn't separate later on causing cracking issues.
No doubt sika is a great product, but there are better options.
