  1. Awesome link Interesting stuff. Almost artwork hey
  2. The beauty of the internet... or not depending on your perspective. It looks like XSpeed just priced themselves out.
  3. It is supposed to be yes. But would you think Canberra is a greater risk then Brisbane? Because that is what the rates say...
  4. Thanks Ken, for the start of my new exhaust system. Now to order a PFC...
  5. Don't worry, we here in ACT aren't too far behind. :laughing-smiley-014: Yesss it seems rates may be tailored to economic conditions. Particularly apparent in the larger companies rates' I think, clever isn't it Certainly a way to make the most of it for themselves. Play around with some quotes and you can see what we mean. A lot of places have online quoting systems.
  6. Yeah give em a call. Certainly don't take my word as gospel though That is cheap so big chance I may be wrong! It is a special though.
  7. I think Trojan may be charging $880 for both fitted at the moment... not sure. The HKS one is quite a bit louder I have been told, not legal. The Trust one would probably not be legal but closer to the mark. I think I am going to buy recce's XForce and have a system made up using that. Will come out cheap in mild steel, now to find a good resonator...
  8. My plan is Power FC and cat back without the boost resticter (already gone). I was going to go Trust PEII I think it is, cause it is quiet. However I really don't want a cannon, I would much prefer the stock look of simple twin pipes. Aside from the $1100 stainless exhaust from Unique I think it is, does anyone have any suggestions? My criteria is little drone, decent flow and not much over the limit and of course no cannons preferably ETA: Not that I dislike the look of cannons (certainly not the case - quite the opposite on the right cars), just prefer to be as subtle as possible for attention reasons
  9. I know you do! Was just saying in the perfect world, all quotes are supposed to be equal... but like you hinted at that is not completely true.
  10. The 'loser' refers to the Rugby game. They love the car.
  11. Their rates based on your risk information. Try ryno.com.au too. And Vigil. And Famous. Make the market work for their share.
  12. Street tuned. Plenty are. I'm sure the owner will clarify. Looks like a fast car for the dollars.
  13. ahahahahaha sheer GOLD. Says a lot about their ideology, methods etc. I like the using defects to disperse crowds. That is ethical. But we already knew that.
  14. Fair call mate. But being weary and being unreasonable are mutually exclusive. Some cars aren't resprayed due to accident damage. Check inner panels/supports, bodywork (bog/prep underneath can easily be seen by those in the know), original brackets etc and of course 'chassis' rails. For example, dealers in particular are notorious for painting cars for presentation purposes (ie. you can get an extra $2k for cleaning something up). Paint hides damage only if you aren't experienced enough to see past it.
  15. I was going to send you a PM to say congrats on finally getting a car. But with your second emotionally fuelled outburst subtlety directed at me I won't. I was never going to drive my car to Sydney so you could show your Dad (a ridiculous expectation really!). I accepted your apology after you insulted me several times when I said I wouldn't. I accepted your low offer based on ease of transaction that resulted in 2 or so months of flip flopping on your behalf. I sent you multiple photos (20+) at your requests. So you eventually decide to take the drive to Canberra. When here your Dad asks you after 30mins 'so what do you think?' you answer about my car sheepishly: 'it's perfect'. Your Dad finds overspray on a rubber and it is all over, you didn't even start the car! You made a guy drive from Newcastle based on the same promise of purchase and sent him home based on paint again. I told you the car had been resprayed, and frankly it looks better for it. Why the obsession with paint? What is paint? It is just that: Paint. Anyone experienced in cars, panel beating etc can see past it. My brother is a panel beater. Inner panels have never been off my car. You need to learn to bight your tongue. You need to learn how buying and selling works. I am again insulted you are publicly and outwardly bitter about something I was very patient and only ever honest about. You have a lot of growing up to do and I am f**k all older than you. As for buying an R33: Look interstate. Expand you market. It is always a risk of course, just be careful. I bought my car interstate and couldn’t be happier. Known Australian history, low kms backed up with a compression test and mechanical inspection. I even have the original brochure that came with it. Judge the seller and the car. Ask questions you know the answer to. Be objective. Never let your emotions come into play, it is a destructive attitude. 1983's advice was also good on the GTRs in general. There are a lot of good R33 GTRs for sale at the moment, the market is flooded. Choose well and you won't be happier. So much car for your money.
  16. So, so so much car for the money. In my opinion, and depending of your taste in cars of course, nothing for $25.5k would make you happier. Good luck with the sale, don't let the dreamers without enough get you down. This will sell for it's bargain asking price.
  17. I have friends living in Japan and what you say is very true. Public transport works very well, tolls are ridiculously expensive, densely populated and far far smaller. Australians drive their cars pretty well far more than anyone else. Fearful Aussie will never understand that, and only they lose out buyer higher km cars to make themselves feel better! I bought a 1985 RX7 with 45k on it. Everything was like new. A mate living over there now has a 1993 RX7 with only 35k on it. Did 3k a year for the first 7 years of it's life. Stop discrediting peoples sales. If you are scared, ignore the speedo and judge a car on its condition alone. Stop with the annoying fear mongering. "As a car buyer. Don't trust anyone! or believe everything you hear or see." You'll never buy a car if you can't trust your own eyes or judgement. And you do better using that than some perceived expert workshops.
  18. So simply pulling the restrictor is not such a good idea?
  19. Cheers d-d, don't worry mate I agree it is a steal. Pics of the interior and its usual wear spots... Zero wear on the original mats and pedals: Steering wheel: Gear knob: Driver's seat: Engine bay close up, including factory sticker still looking new: Some examples of the whole picture.
  20. Thank beefy. I'll try to get some more pics tomorrow, including seats, trim pedals etc.
  21. $30k Neg. Dropped price for a quick sale.
  22. Cheers Chris, appreciated. You are very close but in my mind I just can't let it go for that much at this stage... I really love this car! I didn't even notice the change of user names... Just reading the posts together as one I thought they were the same username. So yeah, now you pointed that out definitely.
  23. Cheers for the support everyone. If you don't have $30k or very near to, please don't worry about contacting me making a low offer and backing it up with things that are almost insulting, such as almost making me out to be dodgy because of kms and almost talking your way around the condition. If you had such thoughts in your head an offer would not be made at all?
  24. I have been offered well over $25k. I still have the car and am keeping it. I am under no pressure to sell it. Selling it was a want rather than need. If you have genuinely found some 50k cars with log books for around $25k and that is what you are after, which you are so happy to have found, buy them. That is a good find and price for good cars. There is a lot of cr@p out there, I know, I looked for months. If you are being charged $1k for an engine respray for removable parts that is a rip for something is not just unnecassary but very easy to do, I have been quoted $500. The lip is a minor thing which I will do for myself. Saying the car does not look 'respectable' for things so minor is silly. Make an offer which you are entitled to make, do not try to convince me of the overall value of the car with such small things. Bringing people down in such a way is not helping your case. I have had two workshops look at the car and say the condition of the car speaks for itself. Factory stickers still on and looking new everywhere cannot be replicated. And who would seriously bother winding kms back and changing everything like you said for very little extra cash?
  25. He has posted on Ausrotary and received a similarly unbiased response. My vote is for the GTR, I made that decision myself recently and chose the GTR and couldn't be happier.
