  1. GTS badge is definite a cool thing for a GTST.
  2. 1500kgs is GTR territory and that is where we are headed with cars which that size used to weigh 1200kgs.
  3. Sorry it should have read 'compared to a Civic the GTR is expensive to own'. But I don't think GTRs should be considered expensive to own, given what they actually are I think they are relatively cheap, that is my opinion. It's been a very easy car for me to own (granted I have a very good condition low km R33 - but still there are plenty out there like mine). I was set on a R32, always preferred them. But I bought the best GTR I could afford, which happened to be the car I have now and I don't regret it one bit.
  4. There are a fair few LHD R33 GTRs around. I've seen a 1000hp purple one, and a very high HP yellow one off the top of my head. They use the original gauges but a different dash pad... not sure what model the dash is from though... Cheers for posting more pics Jack. Awesome looking car mate.
  5. Agreed, so long as it can be put back to standard easily then fair game for history's sake.
  6. If I get to keep my GTR and it's a daily? Probably the R34. If I only get one car out of those two? Probably the R33.
  7. That is a huge difference in price, 50% increase to the top spec version which is quite astounding. It's like the difference between a cooking model Commodore and a HSV or a WRX and an STi. Personally I don' think they'd do a NA version, but a lower powered one, like the difference between a WRX and an STi could be possible and place the car in two different markets - although never really done before with a GTR, it kind of makes sense to do it now.
  8. Congrats, please post pics.
  9. My money is on them changing Simply makes sense.
  10. Yep. Promise you that. You can move across the road and it will make a huge difference if it is a dif postcode. But for a freaking massive difference in premium, but not necassarily risk, you could move from Brisbane CBD with the risk (car) parked on the street to Sydney suburbs or even Canberra suburbs parked in a garage with the premium going up hugely. The postcode change in premuim is more due to economic conditions and market expectations than actual risk.
  11. True, but 'nismo' does have a hole in some instances.
  12. I like your thinking. Sh@un, it was so over the top, true. But it was to improve the aerodynamics of the VL, maybe it needed a lot of improving... And hence how extreme it was?? :laughing-smiley-014:
  13. That's the remake of the Hertz rent-a-racer that Ford did in limited numbers. I would do a definite Japanese stripe if I were to do one, which is quite different to the American muscle cars.
  14. I love muscle cars and having owned a new Monaro I especially like them. But the 427 is a modified car and may actually look standard from the outside. Regardless I'd like to see pics too.
  15. I don't like some of the design of the new one either. Mostly the wheelbase in relation to over hang and heavy rear end (looks especially bad on cooking models) and front headlights - too soft. But the rear of the HSV looks great IMO.
  16. Great info Richard. Mind if I post it on another forum? (Crediting you of course) Interesting that silver costs so much more... Also to note that the colours are so plain, much like the R32 GTR. I can't wait!! Wonder if this will be the first car I ever buy brand new...
  17. It does and on the whole, so long as they aren't completely abused or neglected, for the age and performance you are gonna be pretty right. I think the thing is, the Skyline is a mainstream type car in this country, which attracts a greater audience or potential buyer who may not completely understand performance cars in the first instance - hence the additional fear - which is not necessarily founded on much. For instance, magazines, Hot 4s and the like, talked about the GTR's additional maintenance required. But for the performance, it is not that much, compared to say a Porsche, or a Ferrari. But a fellow Japanese car, like Civic, it is a lot more expensive to own.
  18. I would not call bullsh!t based on that reasoning. People mod F40s all the time, people have put rims on an Enzo, people with a lot of cash spend more on the car, but still want to toy with it. My Uncle bought an F360 Spyder new, but had to lower it and put an exhaust on it straight away. These people have the same idea as you, but they are spending more on the car in the first place, simply because they have more to spend, but that is the basically only difference. Get some pics of the Z Tune please mate.
  19. PERFECT. And exactly how I want my car to look (wheels in particular). Maybe a carbon N1 rear spoiler blade, and it's done.
  20. I think with the VT they made a marked improvement, especially with the newer engines, it was a world class car considering its price, being a large, well equipped, RWD sedan.
  21. They'll have a range of engines no doubt, including the new 6.3L. They are deeloping a successor to the LS7, reported to have 600hp. I like the new Dodge Challenger too.
  22. It's true, and an interesting point, it's the most discussed topic with regard to new performance cars, but if the hardware is right probably the easiest fixed too (Japanese gentleman's agreement proves that this era).
  23. If I had a GTST I'd definitely go D wing, without hesitation, makes the car look phat.
  24. I've got the original S3 lip, but it's just damaged from the previous owner, may possible be able to be prepared. I was worried about it being damaged again is all, since the previous owner seemed to damage it so thoroughly. Is it easy to bump? If I bought a genuine S3 lip, I'd leave it black unless I was definite I wanted to paint it silver. If the genuine lips were half what they actually cost, I'd buy one no sweat, but $1k+ is not cheap.
