  1. http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...E&rssfeed=r Note the lap time of 7.44 around the 'Ring. 6secs off the rumoured 7.38.
  2. Rear 3/4 profile is my favourite angle. Looks so squat and purposeful and still recognisably 'GTR'.
  3. Except around a track the RX7 would own all those cars... Having beaten the GTR on a number of occasions.
  4. The GTR is leaps and bounds ahead of anything to come out of Japan right now. I suspect we are looking at M3, Porsche Boxster/Cayman, Merc whatever, Audi ®S4 competitor. But if they price it right up there, expect sales to be not as good as they could be... we are still talking about a Nissan. Despite that if I was going to blow that much on such a depreceiating asset the GTR would be my choice. But I am not in that market, am I? And I suspect people that are want a bit of brand to brag about... especially in this country where German cars are stupidly overpriced (but ever dumber, they sell...)
  5. How much do you pay for an M5 here? our German cars are ridiculously overpriced. Fingers crossed our GTR pricing won't be relative to the M5 price for instance... An RX8 is circa $30k in Japan and circa $60k here, for another example.
  6. What had to be done? Maintenance or a failure of some sort?
  7. Thanks mate. Just need a Power FC and boost controller and I am ready to have the turbos fitted.
  8. And Mercedes start at $30k here (I am in the US currently). Have a look at Porsches if you want a real laugh. People pay WAY too much for these cars in Australia, they simply aren't worth that much.
  9. Pretty much what I reckon, I actually preferred when the black continued the line of the lights. Aftermarket or Nismo new bars perhaps? On the whole: Awesome.
  10. Also, I can't wait to hear what this thing sounds like at full noise with a decent, big exhaust.
  11. Front is very 'Nissan Corporate' which is expected of a car to be of its time as a flagship of a range. That is the only thing I guess I personally don't love, because I am not a huge fan of Nissan's current front end or 'face' styling direction. The rest is spot on and you can't deny the performance or value for money.
  12. Cheap, very reliable horsepower with good throttle response and awesome top and average power. The LS motors are a good thing.
  13. The interior is straight influenced from the 60s Camaros. I don't think it's ugly, heavily styled but not ugly. But I know what it is representing so I guess that makes a difference.
  14. I guess what sometimes puts people off is not necessarily the car, but the hype that surrounds it. The Holden bandwagon, if you get what I mean. Same goes for some people's opinion of Skylines. Rotaries. 4 cylinders. Etc.
  15. Engine and drivetrain specs check the current crop of Corvettes. Floor pan is same as the VE Commodore. I like it. It will be quick in a straight line and around a track, no doubt about it.
  16. So long as it doesn't say GTR I guess it's not so bad, like said above. But for a GTST I reckon the stealth or 'd' wing is the go, just makes the car look squat and tidy.
  17. Very quick, certainly a tough sounding car. I reckon this sounds the goods too: http://www.maxpower.co.uk/videoview.asp?asset=2466 Go the 4 rotor.
  18. Balance looking after it and enjoying it. Short of not driving it sometimes there is nothing you can do about an engine or turbo failure for example, so long as you know you were not abusing it, it was well maintained and you didn't ignore it overheating or something stupid like that you have done what you can and shit happens. Don't let stress stop you from enjoying your car, otherwise you're already living as if it is going to break when nothing has even gone wrong! Be sensible but have fun too. And recognise shit happens, you are driving a performance car.
  19. Be nice to have that kind of coin. The 72 GTR clone looks nice too.
  20. You gotta be proud of the Monaro, regardless of your automotive preference, it really is a cool thing even when stacked up against what the world has to offer.
  21. I really hope the new V6 will be tough enough to make 1200+hp. Wait to see though.
  22. I went with the -5s since I reckon when it comes to power, once you start you tend to want more. I want that window if needed.
  23. I have a set which haven't even been fitted yet. If my car sells (somene genuine seems interested and approached me, jyst depends on their cirtcumstances), I'll be selling them separately. I would have left mine, but the factory ceramics scare me with the horror stories... I wish I could just leave with nothing hanging around in the back of my mind! Even though the car is so new, I still would rather be safe than sorry...
  24. Just gimme the whole car, I'll take care of it
  25. My car looks like shit apart from the condition, it is stock but the missing front lip is bugging me right now... (was damaged by the previous owner). I'm collecting parts for my turbo swap and other bits and pieces. Wheels and suspenion will be last at this stage. It's sonic silver like yours, but a S3 1997 model. I want the LMGT4s, but they don't come in black anymore! Love the Z tune bonnet too. I also have a carbon N1 bonnet lip to be fitted, but haven't because I am unsure if I like the carbon look on the bonnet just yet. Carbon wing blade will follow. Have the Nismo B pillars dress things and the wing ends, and clear lenses. Otherwise it is basically as factory (including exhaust! - almost feel bad changing that as it is so rare), minus the lip.
