  1. I meant it's definitely working not because of the gauge, but because jacked up in the rear only it lurches forward just by letting the clutch out at idle. It may be slower or not as strong, but it's definitely 4WD still. I'll resist spending a bomb rebuilding the transfer case for now.
  2. Spotted a midnight purple R33 GTR with harnesses and Nismo rims on the rear only in the building I park. Love that colour!
  3. Nah it's definitely working, in 2nd I'm getting 10kg/m which results in wheelspin. Whereas in 1st I get the full 50 which is no wheelspin (obviously less power in 1st too). I'll have a shop look at my suspension set up and then decide if I need a ATTESA controller.
  4. Spotted a R32 GTST in the Civic car park today, cnr of Mort and Cooyong, had staggered rims and GTR type front bar and grill. Looked tidy.
  5. Yeah I am a Today Tonight 'hoon', clearly shown with a light hearted explanation of what the car does moving up the revs. Sorry I don't fit in with your ideology. Criticise away. Perhaps post something positive as a way to sell yourself and the Richardson Motorsport business? While I would assume you have a solid and loyal customer base, your 7 or 8 cynical and critical posts on here are doing you no favours. Or maybe it's just that you like to show people how you see the world?
  6. The transfer case is working perfectly, it tried to pull itself off the jack LOL. WTF. I'll bleed the ATTESA, have my suspension set up looked at and go from there. Thanks everyone.
  7. Thanks Kat. LOL, not that I should have to justify my position on the internet FFS, but this is near my 30th car and I've owned from 550hp 1080kg RWDs to modified 440+ci V8s. I don't think the right foot is an issue in this case. A 4WD car with tyres like this should not do this, I shouldn't have to feather the throttle in this car in 2nd gear in a straight line, as pointed out by a20089. FYI Erol, I've been on the track in plenty of other cars and done an advanced course 7/8 years ago with Rick Bates when I was younger. Please try not to apply prejudice without any knowledge of the car or driver. I guess Erol's comments are a case in point that Skyline is somewhat synonymous with 'young hoon'. A shame for the genuine enthusiasts that make up the vast majority of owners. The Today Tonight attitude is basically politically correct now days. Well it's definitely not the transfer case, it's working perfectly. I'll bleed the ATTESA and get a place to look at my suspension set up and go from there. Thanks everyone.
  8. Thanks I'll remember that. When I went past looking for tyres he had some nice cars there, a whole range including a R34 GTR. You're probably right about the dyno. Some insane numbers relative to ours are in the RB26 turbo upgrade dyno thread, LOL. It seems it's 4WD issues. I'll check the transfer case tomorrow. That fishtail is what I experience in 2nd and 3rd gear coming on boost. Exciting, fun, etc but not fast, LOL.
  9. Thanks so much Eric, I'll try to get to it tomorrow. Much appreciated.
  10. The more I think about it the more I think you and risking are correct. I'll look into. Thanks fellas.
  11. The clouds of tyre smoke out the rear when held at throttle says otherwise... so definitely rears (ie. you are correct). You can feel when the front comes in as it progressively transfers and regains grip (perhaps 'all 4 wheels' was a touch of exaggeration but it certainly felt like that on the old tyres - but just more wheelspin). Perhaps that regain of grip was just natural and at all the 4WD aid... Thanks for the thought, I'll look into it. But something doesn't seem right.
  12. I did a search and couldn't see anything on this. My car is an R32 running HKS 2530 at 1.3 bar. I have a fairly choked exhaust with the stock dumps and front pipe. Power is basically unknown, it is pretty quick. I have a dyno of ~260awkw on the supposedly low reading Ultimate Tunes dyno prior to replacing my cat. Is it true that this dyno reads low and by how much approximately? I'd appreciate comments on this... My car will come onto boost quite hard in 2nd and smoke the tyres up to high 7k rpm. Dramatic, but not the fastest way of forward movement. I drive like a Granny 98% of the time but I like to give it a little hit now and then and wouldn't expect this in 2nd, nor is it especially legal and very hard to avoid. We all know the amount of coppers around Canberra!!! I replaced the shit Nexens it had on it, with them the car would literally smoke all 4 at 100km/h. I figured it had to be the poor and balding tyres. I fitted 255/40/17 Toyo T1Rs to the TE37s all around which I've put several hundred kms on. It's slightly better but in second gear it's still hopeless, straight line is spins the wheels after 4500rpm. Suspension is Bilstein shocks and unknown springs all around, with some changes to arms etc. as it came from Japan. The spring rates are of course stiff, but not overly so. The ride is quite compliant (certainly compared to a mate's WRX anyway). Camber is negative, but again nothing silly. My question is, WTF? How can a 4WD car with the same tyres struggle for grip when a mate's S8 RX7 (he runs a ported block + T04Z at 1.1 bar around 280rwkw) with the exact same tyres (basically the reason I bought them) have full grip? Is there a certain set up that can cause this behaviour? It's got me beat. Can any one here suggest a suspension place that can to look at this set up to aid traction?

  14. My RB26 spends as much time in the upper RPM as a normal car, so I guess Mobil 1 works. But the 10k kms thing of the Motul is appealing.
  15. Thanks John, I'm sure we all appreciate it. I'm merely cautiously contemplating now, I think we only have time on our hands given the state of the world economies.
  16. Which is why I take the middle of the road and look at it and decide (hardly scientific LOL), however it won't go over 8,000kms prior to changing.
  17. Why should Mobil 1 be changed every 5k and Motul 300V every 10k?
  18. Where are you all checking out cars from? I found pistonheads to be pretty good, but some can be slightly overpriced.
  19. Precisely, a 550 for mid-30s is extremely tempting. Given the state of things in the UK was why I was looking at doing it.
  20. There goes any plans to get a F355 from the UK as my next importing venture.
  21. Are you saying that those listed prices don't include parts, even for RHD cars?
  22. Figured as much, that was a 'best guess' on chassis number. I'd be interested to find out WTF Nissan was doing with the model codes.
  23. Looks so good the bandwidth was exceeded on the host!
  24. Was this ever expanded upon? My car has one of those odd model codes. KBNR32RXFSLMZG Strangely this gives a build date of 6/90 rather than the FAST 10/89 for my chassis BNR32002505: http://fteqw.com/moodles/model-decoder.php...amp;chassis_no= This doesn't give all the answers either. So weird. http://www.users.on.net/~goofyhsk/info/chassis_plate.html
  25. I reckon it should be as follows. Skyline R34 GT-R M-spec: 1600kg Skyline R34 GT-R M-spec NUR: 1600kg Skyline R34 GT-R V-spec II NUR: 1580kg There's no way 200+kg was added.
