  1. Hahaha I've done it a couple of times so won't have that problem! Great post, thanks for that. I only just had them done. If some things weren't done correctly can that lead to these issues? Bilstien coilovers, cambers kits and traction rods and all sorts of random shit. I really don't know a whole lot about suspension sorry. But definitely height has changed, it's certainly lower.
  2. Okay, sweet. Thanks again Josh.
  3. Yes for yours, I think is the answer to that one. Someone more knowledgable on comparisons between R32/R33/R34 N1s and Garretts and HKS can answer that far better than I.
  4. Interesting indeed, thank you. If it is the HKS2530s I have - the previous owner told fibs and didn't know some things - they might be SS, and the motor is in reasonable condition, I should see some decent power. Probably more than what would allow my motor to last a reasonable amount of time .
  5. Ed @ Autotech here in Canberra. GTRs up to 1000hp under his belt (one there when I went that day he showed me). My car also has Z32s, there's always something I have forgotten!
  6. Having a think the sensors aren't in the wheel itself, so the wheel could be on upside down and it wouldn't effect anything. Looks like I'll have to lock up the HICAS.
  7. My Catco is installed and barely effected noise levels from the stock R32 GTR cat, you've got nothing to worry about with that . Hopefully if they have space for me my car will be tuned next week (getting a clutch fitted also). Specs are: 150,000km old R32 block (potentially rebuilt in Japan as it's been running 1.45bar ) HKS2530s Stock dumps, HKS front pipe, Catco, HKS hipower Stock air box Fuel system Power FC So should be a reasonable comparison to your car. Although my dumps will be restrictive .
  8. Fair comparison, it's a direct comparison like you said, but it's fair enough. I bet you wish you took that bloke's offer of $35.5k, or then again, maybe not? LOL.
  9. It also gives, particularly R32s, a bad name for the engine being weaker. Often in reality the kms travelled are often far higher. Obviously there are still some exceptional cases where the car has genuine low kms, these are more common in Japan than Australia. So I'm not referring to all cars.
  10. Good post fellas. Particularly a20089 about the Federals. For more information about other tyres I've had recently that I can remember: Nankang = terrible Nexen = tyres I bought with the GTR and they were absolute rubbish (being slightly bald didn't help) Dunlop SP Max Sport = Great tyre, but they aren't worth the entry price - my Toyo T1Rs are just as good Falkan Azeni = Not that great - particularly shit when cold BF Goodrich Radial T/A = Not recommended for GTR but looks good on American muscle Cooper GT Radial = Same as the BFG above LOL
  11. There's nothing better than driving a GTR daily.
  12. The cheaper one. That's the one I have, for the same reason you are considering one. Also, for the same reason you didn't spend so much on a cat is why I ended up with this - I simply couldn't justify $400+!
  13. Officially the X-Force flows slightly more by way of CFM, but the Just Jap GTR make 330awkW with the Catco. I bought that exact Catco and the car is being tuned in a couple of weeks so I am no help from a customer's point of view right now!
  14. Spotted a very tidy black R32 GTR near the Canberra Centre today.
  15. Good post. Kudos for playing it cool and laying out your response in that fashion. You are correct, if you are talking silver R33 GTRs, the Sonic would have to be one of the least common (depends if you want to includes greys? LOL). Like I said in your for sale thread, it's a relatively rare car, when specification is taken into account and given your standards for purchase. That is one way to look at it. Another is that it's just another Sonic Silver R33 Skyline, of which there are plenty (more of a general public perception). How many ways can you skin a cat? Okay so you say you are not here to try to make your car look rare (despite comparing to R32 V-Spec II), but I ask why that you specifically have 'rare' plastered all over your advert? Then again, it's an advertisement and your defining rare is based on colour and spec. But this can and will sway people's perception, as demonstrated above (some poor bloke desperately trying to get finance for it, LOL). My general point was that in regard to asset appreciation, we are discussing talking points of specification and build, rather than actual model rarity (defining points). This should not be confused.
  16. That is a genuinely special car due to pedigree, which will give the car real appreciation potential. Specification follows - long after or not at all - pedigree has lead certain classes and makes of cars to appreciate. But it's all speculation on a non earning (rather a cost to own) asset. Cars aren't a real investment by any stretch.
  17. Brandan your car was a bargain!! The LM R33 for sale now is also a good buy. But reflects the drop in R33 values. Nismo oil cooler is an option. There is one around my area, a Sonic Silver Series 3 that an older woman drives with one! (It's not a V-Spec). She saw me checking it out and said "you like my car?" . Sonic Silver (KR4) is also very far from being a rare colour, you only have to check out the number of GTSTs in that colour. Also, saying a car is "one of only X built in X year, in X colour and X specification" is really drilling it down and sounds a touch ridiculous, I mean it was also 1 of 1 cars with that VIN number, LOL. Enthusiasts will only drill down that far in terms of rarity and its effect on value when a massive bubble in the price of a certain class of vehicle or make occurs, such as muscle cars (which varied a lot in specification in the US). Otherwise, it simply doesn't apply that far but is a decent marketing tool and enthusiat talking point.
  18. They're often wound back here also. I found the original ad for my car in Japan and it had 44,000 would out of it prior to compliance in Australia. The previous owner (who imported it) certainly told a few fibs. So it's not entirely fair to say it's all Japan, the grey factor often provides a cover for poor behaviour in Australia.
  19. I'll do it tomorrow, I did some reading before and wondered if that might be it. Thanks Josh.
  20. Looks great. Love the kit and colour.
  21. That's exactly what I had but without the heavy steering. Definite crab walk. Happens at higher speeds like 80km/h and you need to steer into it and if slow down quick a flick out of it. I recently had work done on the suspension but the steering wheel is not that straight after the alignment and wondered if that had anything to do with it...? Speedo cable is all good.
  22. Has anyone ever had HICAS work in a straight line? That sort of issue, giving the car a 'flick'? Possibly due to the wheel not being on straight...?
  23. On my 17x9s I have Toyo T1Rs, 255/40/17 x4, and they are a great road tyre in all conditions. They were $330 each (probably a touch high but I needed them that week). If I had to do it again I would be looking at the Kumho KU36.
  24. I'll be interested to see how you go. I have the same Catco cat and stock dumps (my biggest restriction). Also stock air box etc. Tune is coming in a couple of weeks for me. Good luck mate.
  25. Air Flow Meters. Generally believed they should be changed for Z32s or Nismos at higher power levels, hence my surprise as Kat is running 360+rwkW.
