  1. Tricky to install too due to multi plates I was told yesterday. Hopefully it'll hold out. Do you know what it is exactly?
  2. Good stuff!! They're still f**king around with my clutch anyway. Not happy: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Cl...13#entry4780913
  3. I had my clutch installed yesterday (ORC700) bought/imported brand new and installed at a local workshop who said they have done at least 6 of the exact clutch with no problems. However mine is the exception. When I turned up they didn't know I was there and I heard them say: "One of the nicest R32 GTRs I've driven very tight, the clutch still isn't right though. Just give it back to the customer." Bloke turns around and says: "this is the customer". "Oh is this your car? Now I want you to try it for a week..." Me: "Um, I think I'll take it back when it's working properly thanks". It won't go into gear on idle properly, extremely hard and has to be jammed in. Now they are going to pull the box out again, as they said they have checked all adjustment items leaving only the throw out bearing as the issue - which ironically as I turned up the person who installed it complained of how difficult the job was to do in this regard - or as he said: "if our work ends up being fine and it's the clutch itself, then we'll talk". WTF is that supposed to mean? It's brand new! Anyone know how the clutch itself could cause this? Sounds potentially like a throw out alignment issue to me...? Needed to vent!
  4. Where?! I need to know!
  5. Great post! Love the old tests. It f**king belted them.
  6. LOL Yeah mine doesn't like the 'bumpy' suspension.
  7. Yep, km readings to be taken with a grain of salt. I discovered mine has had 45,000kms wiped off it. The condition is still great, however. So judge each car on its own merits. It also gives R32 GTRs an unfair 'unreliable' tag as people look at the kms travelled when the engine fails. Again, bingo. My car is only a neat and relatively cheap (yet expensive LOL) daily so I'm happy as it is. I would recommend doing the same. Bolded word for truth. Some people pay a premium for a car when it simply isn't worth it. My car was something of a bit of 'mixed bag' and risk, which ended up reflecting its intial purchase price. Very happy though.
  8. 4WD? Great cars. I like them.
  9. Me too especially if my turbos have to come off anyway. They look like a good buy .
  10. Anyone know where I can get one HKS turbo rebuilt? Front one is making a huge bearing noise.
  11. Spotted a grey R34 GTR on Canberra Avenue last night, coming from the Fyshwick side. Looked so bloody good.
  12. I noticed it Sunday and thought WTF? I guess I was in denial. It's only a recent thing. They didn't sort the clutch out entirely either so all round a bit of a fizzer. Keep us posted on what happens with you Brandon.
  13. It's the front one. I might just get it rebuilt. It's already a HKS of some kind. I was told 2530 but they spool so well I think it's a GTSS. Interestingly I was told by the bloke tuning it that the stock air box will be a restriction when it's fixed, that it should see over 300rwkw with my turbos but the air box will keep it to 260/270rwkw. specifically put it back on as the pods were rooted. Thing is on here we've seen people on here with upwards of 340rwkw with them, so yeah I dunno.
  14. Well, there will be no tune as the car has one f**ked turbo. It's not totally dead but is making a bad noise on shut off so it was deemed unsafe to tune it. More cash to be spent. Yay.
  15. Well, I found out today that one of my HKS turbos is stuffed, not sure if it's front or rear as yet. It's not totally dead, but is very noisy so the car could not be tuned without risk of failure. So it's not only stock ones that die. Sweet, another few thousand to be spent.
  16. Pete's (?) tough R32 GTR at Autotech this morning.
  17. Great pics and definitely a decent time Ian, well done mate!
  18. Silver R32 GTR going the opposite way to me (Gunmetal Grey) as I was going out of Kingsford Smith onto William Hovel. Looked good on the road.
  19. Oh okay cool. I eat my words. Yeah you might luck out with second hand anyways. Good luck and I'll let you know how I go with the tune next week.
  20. Far out I would love 300rwkW LOL. Will be happy with a conservative 260rwkW from the tired old thing though. Also great value right now and good size. But they don't have a flex bend, perhaps harder to install? Haha.
  21. Yes I still have stock dumps. Which from R31Nismoid's post aren't the massive restriction I thought they were. That's the same front pipe I have except mine isn't stainless.
  22. I bought my HKS second hand. I wouldn't have paid retail for them. However, the Blitz unit at Just Jap is great value for new. I would steer clear of the Chinese shit as the shape is very different from the Japanese ones, which I am sure is for a reason (tuned length?). I'm amazed at the difference it made to the spool up under 3,000 revs. I didn't realise the stock front pipe was that bad? Given it's a decent size. Either that or it's all in my head (also quite a possibility LOL).
  23. Well, after the install of the HKS front pipe, the turbos spool up like crazy. It's great. Which also leads me to believe I don't have HKS2530s, but HKS GTSS. That would explain the low power figure of 270awkw previously also. Booked in for its clutch and tune next week. Should have some numbers on Friday night. Just being conservative and hoping for 260rwkW given the exhaust restrictions and tired old engine (I also put a quieter 3" muffler on the rear I had lying around to replace the cannon).
  24. Don't forget the debt fuelled speculation that gave the cars their value. We had an asset bubble in houses which also applied to other things - in this case classic cars.
