  1. Be very very careful. I'd try not to drive it if you can. There have been guys on this forum with the same problem. When the fan lets go.... I've seen pics with holes in the bonnet. the radiator also gets chewed up.
  2. Are you guys dieing waiting? I'm just waiting for some of you guys to get it so I can have a look, then if they're good, i'm ordering some too. sighs..... that means i won'tbe getting any for like 2-3 months.
  3. They will fit, but they will be stretched.
  4. just a suggestion, but how much power do you need? Those vg30s are clumsy and heavy. How about a ca18 or sr20?
  5. My pics are on my computer at home. I won't be going back there till uni break.
  6. Redline themselves say that the shockproof is not to be used in synchro boxes. I know that everyone on here thinks it's the bees knees. they put it in their box and it shifts like new. I totally agree there. My issue lies with box longevity. Basically, a thinner oil allows you to shift smoother. e.g. if you put atf in the box. But also, it's a catch 22, it'll shift smoother for a dieing box, but it'll wear out much quicker too. Lets just say that my box is notchy too. I just live with it. I'd prefer to kill it by notching it occassionally, rather than it dieing from redline shockproof.
  7. Guys, I am very well aware of ylwgtr's build up. Initially, i thought that he just going to weld it straight onto where the cut is in the pick. As in, just weld the pieces as is, not where the factory seems are etc.
  8. all pms replied. many parts still avaialble.
  9. How will you be rewelding it? Are you taking it from the seem at around where the seats are? did you unstitch it at the seem and slide it into the chassis rail? The reason why I said it looked like a death trap is, I hope you're not just literally chopping off the damged bit and welding on the new front?
  10. least destructive? what does that have to do with anything? They altered the base. Plain and simple. That, coupled with your h1 hid kit most likely places the bulb at a different location. Up above, I said that even a few mm makes the difference. It is not the fact that you can't fix it in properly, it is just the fact that it is in the wrong place. Like I said, find osmeone with an oem hid setup and compare the lighting. I have done a test before. I have pictures too.
  11. Of course yours has been butchered. you said so yourself. it was 'converted'. Kaixen, or whatever other kits are shit. Honestly, your best bet would be to source standard hid. I'm actually going to stop replying now, because you seem to have your mind set on continuing with this. your choice. As I said before, I've been there, done that on r34s and many other types of cars. What makes your car special and able to defy the laws of physics?
  12. What you have said doesn't really make sense. are you planning on suing the clutch company? or the workshop? was the clutch faulty? if so, have you tried to talk to the company? People these days watch too many tv shoes. It's like sue sue sue. What action will you bring against them?
  13. If you don't mind me asking, where did you buy it from new? and how much?
  14. Aust post does pick ups from the boxes on sundays apparently. Also interstate delivery with austpost is 1-6 days generally. You'd hope that you'd be getting a courier for 30$!!! I use them all the time at my work, and an insterstate box only costs around $10
  15. Looks like a death trap. If you ever sell it, i hope you'll let em know wat happened to it.
  16. PS Guys: I'd highly suggest a lighting subsection to be created in this forum. I can supply images of the light output of stock, v aftermarket gay ricer kits in all sorts of housing (reflector, projecto etc) as well as provide extensive explanations on issues such as these to save you guys money. I'm guessing that you jumped onto the bandwagon and bought those $200 hid kits from china?
  17. It's not what it looks like there that matters. of course your reflector and that little cone shield will still be the same. Have a look at that black thing around the bulb - That is the bit which they change. Most likely, this, when coupled wiht the h1 aftermarket kit has the bulb in a different position relative to the reflector, which is causing the shit light. The only way to tell if this is the case, is to place your headlight with this bulb in it next to someone else's factory set up and check the position of the bulb. remember - 1-2mm makes a world of difference. Try it. face it at the wall and slide the bulb out slowly and watch the light change. Correct me if i'm wrong, but was your car 'converted' such that it takes a h1 halogen bulb? If so, then everything I said above is correct. Nissan does sell the factory xenon globes. the guy you saw doesn't know shit. He wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a penis pump and a headlight. doesn't matter if they sell them anyways. Your housing can't take the d2r bulb anymore, because the fixing mechanism has been changed (the d2s/d2r/d2c bulbs have a large base - won't fit in the h1 hole). Please understand that i'm not trying to trick you or anything. What benefit do I have to gain? I don't hate xenons or anyhting. I'm just going by my experience. Just to let you know, i've tried an aftermarket hid kit in a butchered 34 housing. The cutoff was shit. Hotspots everywhere. When shone at the wall next to an oem light, my gosh.... I have contributed to many threads on lighting with another forum member called MANWHOR3. Ask 'Sir-D' or 'Xixor' if we know anyhting about lighting.
  18. Don't expect your transmission to last very long with the redline shockproof. But it will shift as smooth as a baby's bottom before it dies.
  19. Guys, this is still avaialble. Price drop - $100
  20. Jerry, is it a gtst or gtr box?
  21. Wrong. The bulbs used in these aftermarket kits sometimes have a different structure. that is, they are different length, focal point is in different place. Secondly, because it's been converted to h1, the focal point is moved. Lighting optics are very fine. even 1-2 mm difference makes a world of difference. it is the difference between good and bad. thirdly and most importantly, your car has a reflector housing. It hsould be using a d2r bulb. The ricer hid kits use d2s bulbs as a base - which means they don't have that shield ring painted onto it. Afterall, I am only involved in a related area as my job..... (no, i'm not some mechanic at a compliance shop)
  22. Thanks for that nismoid. I had a look through the thread names, but i never would have guessed that one.
  23. As i hve always said, expect shit light output. expect to glare people and expect to be defected. expect to cause an accident and ahve your insurance voided. Read my views on aftermarket hid kits. Pointing it up will give you a bit more distance, but less light in each of the areas.
  24. Hey guys, is it just me, or does the back button on the browser not work anymore?
