  1. whoa, that was a quick reply. Tell me somethign else too mate. you know the top section of the front seats, how it doens't have those little strings (every other piece of trim does), did you find that it sat satisfactorily on the seat? that is, it wasn't a big puffy limp thing? I found that if I manouvered it enough, it owuld sit right. but then after using the seat for a few days, it would slide and look shit again. I've thought about actually flipping the cover inside out and stitching that to the seat as well. Or possibly even gluing it on. Of course, i don't know how to sew though, but my gf is helping me. I'm a lucky man!
  2. sorry about the late reply waz, I've been away. yeah, if you have a look inside the covers, there are these little pieces of white strings. they give the covers form. it is not just those little black straps under the covers. Munna, where did you by those bag needles from? I've been looking for one of those big mofo needles
  3. stock viscous units are very very lazy. that is, they dont really spin both wheels much. furthermore, they don't clunk, unless if they're broken in pieces, i suppose they might. generally, if it is quite bitey, and clunks, it's an aftermarket mechanical diff. Some poeple like them, some don't. it depends on the use of your car. e.g. if it's just an a-b car, i'd hate a mech diff. for perfoamnce driving, i'd want one.
  4. The ferrarai was nice, but in that other vid of the smart car, man is that an awesome toy. How scary would it be though. Those things are as small as a golf cart! I test drove one at about 100, and that is absolutely freaky. the thing bounces all over the place. Everytime a car drives past you, it shakes. Hehehe, now I wanna build one. lol
  5. Yep. Definitely. I will put up pics. I'm going away this weekend though and probably won't be able to give it another go until next weekend. I've been mucking around for the whole day. I'm a perfectinonist,a nd don't want to just do a dodgy install.
  6. Ok !!!! Yippeee. Today, I received the covers. I began with the easiest thing first. The headrests. They're very tight. When I say tight, I mean tight tight tight. I managed to get them on with the help of my GF. I found it easiest to flip them inside out and move them down bit by bit on each side. There's something i'm not sure about though. There are these little white strings on the inside of the covers like on the back seat and the lower part of thr front seats. I assume that you're supposed to poke a whole through the seat and pull them through to make the covers follow the contours of the seat. I'll be contacting UAT to ask them about it today.
  7. Hi Can I please get my name changed to "MANWHORE" Thank you. PS: do I use the new username or old username to login? Cheers
  8. Guys, my aim was not to stir trouble. Just like everyone else who is waiting for their seat covers, I too am getting wrestless. I have edited my post. Great job in organising the group buy Jetdat.
  9. Thanks for organising the group buy jetdat and saving us money. Awaiting patiently.
  10. Waz, I understand that it is not mandatory to do the things that I am. however, I just want to be as professional as possible. Of course everyone won't want to go to my extreme, but hey, as i said, i'm just looking to see if anyone knows how to take them off. Cheers PS: good tips for a quick install
  11. nsw has a hotline. do you guys have one? the price for me litereally varied about 90c across all the companies. I just went with nrma since there is a branch near me.
  12. Apparently some of them were sent out on monday. Only time will tell.
  13. yep, the knob on the side of the drier's backrest. U sure the knobs just pop off, man, I broke a mini screwdriver. how do you lever it? just to confirm, are we talking abotu the same thing? so if you take the headrest off, those two little black plastic bezels on the top of the backrest?
  14. I might as well stir up the pot a bit. The seat covers have been at UAT for a while. Give em a ring up and just go there. muhahahha
  15. It's not as simple as you said. Of course the catback is supposed to bolt straight on. Mine did. But when you start changing things upstream, like the cat, dump/front pipe, they can move the position of the catback slightly. It moved mine about 1cm. If you think about it, the slightest difference in angle can move the catback quite a bit, since the catback is so long. That 1cm was enough for it to bang. In a perfect world, yes, everythign bolt on won't require mods. But, as i'm sure you're aware if you try and install things yourself, nothing ever 'bolts straight on' e.g. take a fmic kit as an example. Cheers
  16. Hey Paul! I thought of an idea! Since the diff is a mechanical diff, how about getting it shimmed, such that it's already preloaded a bit. Then when the oil pressure comes on, it'll be even tighter?
  17. They are hardly a seduction. They are just a business there to make money. They bought a car. so? Z Tunes are not cheap, but then again, they aren't that expensive either in the scheme of things. Everynow and then I see a lamo or fez on the street. Now they are nice cars.
  18. yep, happened on my car. I just got the exhaust shop to make a cut in the pipe and bend it, then reweld it. Problem solved. You should have about 10mm between the exhaust and all other things, otherwise it will hit.
  19. there was a place that my friend bought it from 1050 for the diff (2way kaaz) + 150 to install in sydney. I can't remember the place though.
  20. werd up ss8 - agreed.
  21. pat, postage will be around $10. 15 max.
  22. Hey all you guys, I have created a thread where we can all help each other out. As I am proceeding, I have identified numerous issues that need resolving. Head over there and help me out as you might want to do these too when you install your covers. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...132537&st=0 jetdat and midnight racer, you might want to update your thread and link it to mine.
  23. spare thread 2
  24. Guys, what I will be doing is updating my post as I proceed. You may have noticed that I have reached some hurdles that need resolving before I can proceed. They are in the bottom of the post in pink. If we work together and brain storm how to do it, then the overall result will be much better.
