  1. What I do, is when I get out of the car, instead of just going ahead and touching the metal and getting zapped, I hold the key near the key hole. You see a little spark, and you don't get zapped. For you to get zapped, the point of contact with the metal needs to be a part of you.
  2. Well, as they always say, don't spend all of your money on your car. save some for repairs. This is especially so when buying something old like an r32 PS: As said above, sydneykid's coilovers are good, but will cost you more than the 900 odd. If you're short on cash, maybe buy a set of stock suspensions and bung them in. keep in mind, they'll probably be in similar condition. Also, it'll still cost you the install labour, so it might be worth doing it right the first time. Clutch squeek - mine does it too. it's not an issue really. AC - well, yeah...
  3. I am normally a fairly patient and understanding person. Chrisgtr, I've reported you to the admins for business trading. You're always offering people really low prices on phones and laptops, and selling them off later. You have admitted in numerous posts that that you are in the phone and computer business. You're obviously not interested in buying this since you just sold one. There is one for sale in Ebay US: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-UNLOCKED-SONY-E...1QQcmdZViewItem Works out to be about 400-450 once you pay all taxes etc. Also, on ebay australia, all current auctinos still have 4-5 days to go and they're already at $154.
  4. Why bother do that? If all you wanted to do was drive and buy a mirror later, just drive without the mirror and be careful? Or, if you really wanted the mirror to open, since you were buying onoe later, maybe you coulda just ripped it open?
  5. There's two different bits inthe laserwash. there is the diy part - identical to carlovers. I haven't seen a carlovers here in sydney. Laserwash is more expensive. you only get 1 minute for 1 $. There is also the auto washer in there. it's crap.
  6. ah ok. Good idea. I've always dreaded returning back to my car to find the wheels gone.
  7. hahaha Darwin, where is that
  8. Hi Guys Item: I'm selling my Sony Ericson s700i. Firstly, i'll just explain what the history of the phone is, and the condition of it, then i'll explain the features, give links and pictures. History/Condition: Basically, the phone is less than 12 months old, so it still has warranty. I bought this phone about 8 months ago. Back then, the rrp was about $1100 dollars. I'm not rich, but that was basically all of the money from my 21st bday. My family has always been pretty tight on money, so i was pretty poverty stricken in high school. i always had shit phones that people would laugh at, so I decided to splash out, and buy the best pimpest phone of the time. Of course, since I bought the phone outright, it is unlocked. Throughout the time i've had it, work has provided me with a work mobile. THat mobile was pretty nasty and ugly, so my phone was still my special phone. I only used it maybe 1 day a week on the weekend. At all other times, it was pretty much off. About 3 months ago, work provided me with a new pda phone, so i haven't needed to use this phone. All in all, it's only been used for a few days total as I only used it maybe one day a week. It has always been in a phone sock when it is used. I have never dropped it, never scratched it nothing. It is unblemished as if the box was just opened yesterday. It includes everything - box, charger, phone, oringial lanyard, 64meg memory stick duo card. Charger and lanyard have never been used - My work phone is sony ericsson. I am an honest person. Have a look at my rating to the left. This phone is most definitely not stolen. Description of phone: Basically, this phone looks like a digital camera. In today's day and age where every phone is either a slide phone or a flip phone, this one is unique. It is a swivel phone. Everyone always comments on how nice my phone is when I bring it out. In terms of features, of course, it has just about everything - mp3 ringtones, mp3 player, memory stick duo card slot, bluetooth, it plays videos, has a 1.3 megapixel camera that records videos, wap, internet browser. The screen is massive. It's 320x240. The most noteable feature of this phone, is the camera is a proper camera. Have a look at the review for sample pictures taken. Remember 1.3 mega pixel just means the resolution. That is, how many pixels by how many pixels. A shit phone might be 1.3 megapixels, but it might take 1.3 megapixels worth of crap. The review raves about how good the camera is, as well as all the other features. Gsm arena have a review of the camera here - have a look at the image of the document taken - it's so clear: http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_s700-review-18p3.php Location: Sydney (postage around australia can be negotiated with price). As I said above, I am an honest person, ask any of the people who left me a feedback rating. If you're in sydney, come have a look, or if you're interstate, I can send it registered to make sure nothing is lost. Contact details: Pm or call Chris on 0403 211 482. Price: I know i'm not going to get anywhere near $1100 even though it is in as new condition. I'm looking for 400 give or take. Of course, if you wish to negotiate, pm me, or preferably call me, and we can arrange a price. Cheers Chris
  9. Whoa, you're strong t04 When mine was sitting on the floor at the workshop a mate and I could only just lift it together. I'm not very strong.
  10. It still does matter if the road is dry. Yes, tread depth only matters for the rain, but when tyres are that worn, they are old and hard and ahve no traction at all. Illusive, I wouldn't be touging anythign with shit tyres. Just drive it like a grandma until you can afford new tyres. It doesn't matter whether you run 20 psi, 30 psi or 40 psi. they'll be shit anyways.
  11. If I saw this, I woulda leant him a set. Why bother move it to a holding yard? Is that an insurance holding yard? doesn't insurance arrange the car to be moved?
  12. steve, tell me you're joking?
  13. sir d - NTK make a direct replacement for about 100$ odd dollars. It's pretty much the same price as the el sensor, but has the correct plug. I disagree with you guys. I have a consult screen, and I have have used the consult interface with my laptop to graph the o2 sensor output. My fuel economy is shit - about 300ks to a tank. But the o2 sensor is fine.
  14. Are both sides equal height? If you measure them with a tape measure, is the right side ever so slightly lower? also, what is the camber difference? Just 0.5 degree of camber makes a lot of difference.
  15. about 300 cca is plenty. My old 300 cca batt worked really well. I just changed to a gel batt to stop splashes and rust etc. I'm using a 40aH sealed gel batt - from the group buy section. I can leave my car for 2 weeks and still start. I've left my headlights on for 1 hour and it still started.
  16. oops, I didn't read all the posts before. lol Those brushes do scratch. I'm mega anal about my car. It's black, so any swirlies show. I use a brand new sponge every time I wash. Its only $3 a sponge, so i figure what the hell. I always just use my buckete and sponge at laser wash. Lol. I go there either during the week, or at night at like 9-10 pm. There's like no one using it at that time.
  17. Sir D, i know it sucks, but we've been like this in sydney for about a year now. We have something here in sydney called 'laserwash'. You pop a dollar into the mamchhine, and you get 1 minute worth of hosing. I just bring my own sponge and bucket. They have a sign on the wall saying not to, but I just do it during the week when it's not busy.
  18. Yeah, I was saying that he should not have gone public.
  19. I do agree that bbe went about things the wrong way but. e.g. he shoulda just dealt with slide directly. Perhaps whether it was or wasn't his fault, out of his goodwill and kindness, aaron might have fixed it anyways.
  20. dimensions - about the same as your box give or take. weight is about 70kg from memory.
  21. I don't personally know bbe, but I believe that he means well. He just wants his car back on the road. Give him a break guys. While it is quite possible that it is his fault. There is the odd chance that it might not be. e.g. although 800 were fine, turbos work within such a tight tolerance, that a small irregularity in a bearing could cause it to fail at xxK rpm. Try and held him resolve the problem, but i reckon knocking him is slack. Edited to add extra stuff.
  22. Why do you need to rub it back? if it's perfect, leave it. Let it dry for a few months, then give her a buff. If the paint is crap, then cutting/sanding might help, but it wont' make it perfect. PS: I wouldn't use 800. it's way too harsh. Try 2000-1500 if you must.
  23. meh, that's not that loud. Lol. You've still got the centre muffler right? and the 2.25" piping? that's about as quite as it can get. The only possibility is to add another muffler - but you still have the centre one. Furthermore, why add another one, if basically what you did, was fit a louder one to the end. It defeats the purpose. If you like it soft, maybe put the stock one back on? My car has 3.5" piping all the way through (it is a gtst) with no mufflers. Only a cannon at the end, but that has a piece of pipe through the middle. I don't find it that loud.
  24. Is your price cheaper at all than rrp? e.g. as said above - carbon wax is 90 at autocheap. You had it up at 90$ Perhaps, would you be able to run it like a proper group buy above and say the price that you can do it for, and what quantity is required? I'm interested in the clay - e.g. is 25$ the rrp? or is it a special price? how many buyers are required etc. Does it include postage? is it pick up? from where? etc.
  25. I would like to say firstly, I have seen the pistons that wrxhoon was referring to. I agree with him about the exhaust wheel going on the rb26 motors. In some situations, the exhaust wheel might shit itself and not travel into the cylinder. However, when the exhaust wheel shits itself, it unbalances the shaft, which is still travelling at tens of thousands of rpm when it happens. I recently helped a friend pull the turbo off his rb25. The exhaust wheel had crapped itself, and smashed into the cat. I don't know whether it went back up into the engine. It doesn't seem like this happens on rb25s very often based on the manifold and turbo design. However, the shaft had unbalanced itself when the exhaust wheel went causing the inlet wheel to eat the inlet housing. The engine has not been inspected or pulled down yet. The engine was switched off immediately (however, that's still a while after. e.g. you realise the turbo has blown, you're still travelling at speed, you have to slow down, pull over, turn it off). After pulling off the turbo, there was metal everywhere and it was in the piping ahead of the turbo too. Therefore, i would hazard a guess that it has also gotten intot he engine. Therefore, you basically face the risk of double trouble.
