  1. nope. all gears are the same strength. just use it. The only gear that people have trouble with, and you'd have trouble doing this in any car, including a supra box, is when drag racing, flatshifting and hamfisting the stick into third. This only seems to be a problem on the gtrs though, most likely because of the awd and big power.
  2. waz - angle grinder with metal cutting disc. waz, why cut it - there's a gtr support bar on sau atm for i think it was 100-150. I told my friend to buy it, but what can i say. no comment.
  3. How mcuh power does your car have? 5th is just another gear. obviously you're not going to use it at 20km/hr. you won't use 4th or 3rd either at that speed. that doesn't mean that the box isn't strong. This is what I do when driving normally: 1st 0km/h 2nd never use below 20 3rd never use below 40 4th never use below 60 5th never use below 80. It has worked for me. Trying to use these gears at anylower speed just loads the engine right up and i can hear the bearings straining.
  4. how many ks has it done? Is it just the pump itself? or does it come with the cradle too?
  5. Is it that pair of the ones on ebay?
  6. Stan. Please call me before you go ahead with the ecv install. You're welcome to play with the one on my car first. If you really want to go ahead, I know where you can get a cheap one new.
  7. Also, I have performed extensive experiments too. Did you know that because the lght is whiter, you think it is brighter? once again, refer to daniel stern. I have from an up above view, taken a photo with the car in the same position, with a camera fixed on a tripod of various cars with stock lighting v aftermarket hid kit. The results weren't pretty. Basically, you get a little bit more light in some areas. like it's very badly focused. other areas have less. Also, as a side note, because your hid will glare people, you will end up pointing them down, and you get even less light. Once again guys, as I say - best lighting upgrade is plus 50 bulbs, plus relay the lights suh that they get 13.8 volts. Search for the thread please. search for posts with my name, or MANWHOR3's name. or at least read daniel stern. don't make the same mistake others have. *PS - the reason why I refer to daniel stern, is because he provides a nice summary. His site doesn't just present his point of view. it is supported by plenty of other sites. every knowledgeable source, including scientific sites say the same thing. Anyone who believes otherwise is misinformed.
  8. Read the forum that me and manwhore posted extensive information from hid planet and daniel stern lighting. Even though a halogen projector 'appears' to be controllign the light properly, it is not. it is still designed for the halogen bulb. Refer to the diagram on daneil stern. the bulb has a filament, which is brighter in different areas. a hid bulb has no filament. the discharge arc has a different light spread. Basically, the halogen projector will still have a good cutoff because of the cutoff shield, but under that sheild, the light will still have crap focus. when your car's headlights go up, like due to undulations in the road, and if those hotspots hit another driver's eyes, they will get majorly dazed. This is opposed to factory hid, which gives an even uniform cloud of light. It is not just reflector v projector. E.g. My dad has a lexus gs300 with reflector stock hid. The cutoff and spread of light is as perfect as a projecctor like on an accord euro. Search for the thread. Basically, aftermarket hid is bad bad bad. Or join up on hidplanet, or google daniel stern lighting. daniel stern is a quick read. nice summary of the points. his point of view is not one opinion, it is THE correct situation. there are no ifs, no buts.
  9. The following parts are on hold, and most likely sold: Catch can + high temp hosing strut brace coilpack + leads
  10. You don't need to know any of that information. What you need to know is that they're shit and why. Search the skyline specific section if you want a long explanation. Sir D and Xizor have realised why. But basically, the stock housing isn't designed for the hid bulb, which puts out different spread of light. it can't focus it properly. you get a lot of glare going up. you will probably get defected for this. or mgiht cause an accident. If you cause an accident by glaring someone, you will probably have to pay. just like any other illegal mod
  11. Guys, it might actually be possible. someone has done something like this in the past before. you'll need to find out who though. do you remember chris? his name was kryzuie or something like that. he had a white r33. hks 2535. pulled about 250 rwkw before tune.
  12. will a pair of wheels satisfy you? or are you looking for 4.
  13. very bad. it will spin out of whack. it will eat itself out on the housing. and your motor will eat the turbo parts.
  14. I totally agree with ya there.
  15. Hope your finger gets better soon matey. Note to self. Keep lock nut key on chain around neck even when sleeping.
  16. Hey guys, I have a phone here for sale that was given to me for a present, but I already have 2 phones. It is brand new. I have not opened the box. It might be locked to optus, but if you buy it, I can open the box, and have it unlocked for you for free. It is a motorola c380. It can display colour wallpapers, has handsfree speakerphone, can play mp3 message and ringtones, java games. Good if you're after a simple phone without all the cameras and the likes, or as a second phone, or as a present. Location: Sydney Price: $110 INCLUDING POSTAGE TO YOUR DOOR.
  17. Alien, I think you might be missing the point. I wasn't really that seriously set on driving with them. My point was about how nasty they were about it. evil - I'll keep in touch with you.
  18. Try using both orings at the same time for safety. When we installed it onto my mates car, the cheap oring that came with it actually ripped when it was tightened, thus the massive leak. There just so happened to be a spare oring in the kit. We coupled that with an oil filter o ring, and it didn't leak anymore.
  19. I may haev done this on a few occassions on my own private road. It didn't go into fail safe mode on my car.
  20. I said to my friend to go anyways without me. I didn't want him to miss out because he was keen for a drive. He said that a lot of those guys were really geeky and didn't have any communications skills. Their confidence relied on the car. hahaha Hi liz and chris!!, i'll wave to you if I see you. hehehe. I never do though, which is weird, coz i'm up your way sometimes. I live in st ives. black sII r33.
  21. Oh noes! now we're gonna get cracked down on even more. one of these incidents happen like every few weeks.
  22. Once again, i've replied everyone's pms. Guys, if you don't like the prices, make an offer.
  23. Hehehe, joe, you woulda gone just to piss them off I agree with you mate.
  24. It's very expensive. From other people's experiences on here, it's around $200 for good leather. I don't think it's possible to fix. Has the leather worn through that top shiny stuff? I tried every single thing possible on one of my seats in my other car. Didn't work.
  25. I just don't like this statement. I didn't say the full thing above, but this is what they said: "it would be better off if your friend didn't come with us. there are guys here that don't like skylines or their drivers" The road is there to share. I mean, It's not like I really really really really really wanted to drive with them anyways. It was just like maybe I might drive. Like people dont' have to take it so seriously On sau, I don't think we really discrimnate against any cars. I mean, there have been commodores on our cruises.
