  1. The reason there are soo many 33's is because Nissan made/sold almost 250,000 in Japan, Compared to around 83,000 R34's. I myself was looking at 33's (because of price) then I done a bit of research and found out there is a reason they're cheap. Lol. Who would buy them?......cause there cheap, Young 18 year olds who just want a 'fully sick skyline bro', they don't care how thrashed they are, there just after the 'look'... Impress their GF's and stuff. 33's are dirt cheap these days $6K is about average price.
  2. I would NEVER buy one of these pieces Of $h*t. Why? Because I also value my life. Fact to back up how 'safe' they are... The great wall is a EPIC fail LOL, and that's the bottom line. So, be cheap if you want... But it all I know is i WON'T EVER compromise my families safety for the benifit of saving a few $$$
  3. Yes I do. Also, easiest way to warn on coming drivers of cops without the police noticing is: Brake while flashing headlights.... That way your tail lights won't 'light up' and give it a way what you've just done, to a cop sitting behind you it will just look like your braking. (only useful during the day)
  4. *'98 S1 R34 GTT coupe *Silver *Auto *78,000 km *100% stock. NEVER been modded. *Imported from Japan less then 12 months ago *Full Japanese log book and service history (genuine, believe it or not) * Passed compliance 1st time with flying colors *Import and Australian compliance papers provided with sale *NO rear spoiler, factory standard (no holes in boot lid, has NOT been patched.) (I HATE rear spoilers) *Factory NIsmo body kit *Paint in EXCELLENT condition (minus a couple of minor scratches which happened during import) $12,000.
  5. You want a rally car... Buy a old dato or escort (if you can find one that isn't over priced) mod it... Rally car.
  6. Now THAT'S a sleeper... A Charade! This guy wins!??? I think this thread went off topic hard. A lot of the cars mentioned in this thread are nowhere NEAR sleeper status... Even in there stock form. Eg MR2, BMW, XR6T, Merc's, ect. To me a sleep is something that had next to no performance or street cred in stock form. Not MR2's and XR6T that come out from the factory with turbo charged engines... NOT A SLEEPER. An Merc's and BMW are luxury performance cars. Most Surrgestions are simply taking a car with mild stock performance and engine swapping them with something that has more Kw. That is just a engine swap... Nothing special. A TRUE Sleeper not only needs to LOOK stock, But it also has to be a car that had next to NO performance associated with it when first build... Like a Toyota Starlet or Nissan Micra or something. Lol Just my opinion tho. ?
  7. I had a mate that twin turbo'd a Statesmen..... He said it was the biggest disappointment of his life! Lol Apparently it had nowhere near the performance he thought it would have. He sold it not long after the conversion. So yeah, maybe stick with tried and trusted methods (cars that have already been done successfully) instead of trying to be TO different.... It may just turn around and bite you. Ps I do realize this is a old thread. ?
  8. LOL!! I'd do a lot of things to own this car.... But that isn't one of them! ?
  9. There are easier ways to get them leather seat covers. ?
  10. Just seems like a hell of a lot of trouble to go thru to get a working/running Skyline. There are 33 out there (running) for like $5K. I was just interested as to why you've chose the 'hard road' so to speak? Might just be me, but anyone that sells you a lemon is no 'mate'... Unless he didn't want to sell it to you because of the issues with it, but you insisted, in that case he is quilt free. Everybody's logic is different, but I just don't see the sense in buying a wreck? I could maybe also understand if you had always wanted a skyline but didn't have enough cash and then this popped up at the right price, so u grabbed it. I'd still love to know the total cost of this exercise $$$? But if you don't want to say, I will respect that. Either way, best of luck with it. Hope it works out.
  11. Great thread.... Years old, but still a lot of good info for Newbies.
  12. Lol! What do u want... A performance car or a luxury interior? Who cares what the interior looks like (race cars don't have an interior at all!) that's the last thing I care about! If you want a luxury interior buy a BMW or Lexus. Lol :-)
  13. Go the Evo, you don't need to do anymore research, Ppl who have owned them have told you not to buy one. Yes the exhaust note sounds great, yes they go hard... But at a cost.... Usually higher then other cars. It true squeezing HP out of them can cost a fair bit and indent the easiest. End of the day it's your choice.
  14. Wow man, I just had a read thru this thread.... What a heartache, half of me feels sorry for you... The other half says 'serves you right' for NOT test driving a car before purchase! Mate, that is such amatuare mistake to make. Sounds like you got caught up in the moment, the word 'skyline' tends to blind ppl to the obvious sometimes. Hopefully this whole experience opened your eyes a bit and has made you more cautious about buying things without inspection in the future. What I am interested in tho is, What was the total cost to get it runing again at the end of the day? (includes original purchase price, parts and labor) Cause from what I have seen, it sounds like it could of cost a fortune.
