  1. Car overheated bad and now runs shit. = Take head off and go from there
  2. Mate you cracked the aluminim doing it up, no way will jb weld fix it. Weld it or get another.
  3. do testing using an air compressor as a pressure source. try different frequencies and see what happens. plot it in excel It tells you things! I run a volume of air downstream of the valve to keep the crazy pulses in check . (3 port valve)
  4. you never needed to reduce comp, but anyway. How sure are you that the block surface was all good ? It is a nightmare getting old gasket off. how did you do it? copper spray isnt a normal thing to do. how much did you spray on? Have you done that before? the chances of the turbo being the issue are so slim, but you may as well check.
  5. Yeah that's bad. Heads off time. Fix it, don't buy a random engine and hope for the best
  6. You would do a combustion gas in coolant test to be sure, then pull the heads off and go from there. Slim to good chance what you describe could be caused by not being bled properly. Randomly taking the cap off isn't a diagnostic method that's particularly useful.
  7. To rotate the cam 180 degrees as per the manual you have to rotate the crank 360 degrees
  8. You don't have a service manual? It's been nearly 20 yrs since I changed a cam on an rb30. Service manual foes say to rotate crank. https://rb30det.com/download/r31-workshop-manual/?wpdmdl=33658&refresh=641d788a8ae221679653002
  9. Based on that description it's hard to know what the problem is. Tdc could be on the exhaust stroke on the compression stroke. Either way bolting down the rockers will be easy on some spots and harder on others due to some valves being open and therefore you are compressing the springs when tightening the rockers down. Are you using a torque wrench? Are you following the service manual?
  10. I'm loving the trolling. Reasonably subtle, good stuff.
  11. You checking the cam timing correctly? Or somehow else? Image posted to confirm where the marks are.
  12. And you have to cut a massive hole for the shift linkages!
  13. They also pop out of gear when lifting the throttle. For drag use only they are awesome
  14. That's marketing talking there. No way you would notice. The extra logging is the main noticeable difference.
  15. You would confirm with another gauge, and confirm cam timing is correct, then pull the head off for a look. There is no trick or shortcut. For all cylinders to be super low I would be thinking it is something silly.
  16. Settle down mate. What are you trying to achieve here?
  17. There are 2 ls swapped r34 sedans on Gumtree. Buy one of them.
