Brand New Cars - what's worth doing early?
Ben C34 replied to Leroy Peterson's topic in General Automotive Discussion
4wd is not a car bro. Your explanation confirms this. You are snookered. -
Normally if an engine seems f**ked it is f**ked. Tests aren't needed when the problem is obvious. Not sure when people do a comp test on a engine that has issues ( smoke, blowby, rattles etc ) what they really want to find. Regardless head needs to come off for a look, nothing can be fixed otherwise.

V35 250gt crank no start, no codes
Ben C34 replied to JonoV35's topic in VQ Series - V35, V36 & Infiniti
Stop guessing and start properly checking. It's such a bizarre thing to me to buy a car that doesn't work and not know what to do. Proper diagnostic tool, proper oscilloscope, proper checking and verifying. Random part swaps and expecting codes won't do it bro -
Double dickass!

Fuel will wick up through the wiring * inside the insulation) the way you have done that . It isn't sealed properly. you need bulkhead fittings to allow it to be properly sealed.

dipstick blowing out at idle is a pretty serious sign the engine is f**ked.

What are you actually trying to do?

That's got to do with the auto gearbox. -
Pending where the catch can is mounted will determine what it actually catches that you end up seeimg. Cans that are in a hot spot don't collect much liquid as it boils off with the heat. Cans in a cooler spot condense more and you see more liquid as a result. Another variable to ponder....

I have had the ppsr not clear. Bought a motorbike off a dude, didn't do the check cos trusted him. I sell motorbike and guy foes check and itnhas finance! Go visit guy I bought it off as i remembered where he lived , he was as surprised as me *and surprised to see me* and happy to help ( for perhaps obvious reasons, it was in his interest afterall) Apparently the bank never updated the register. All fixed and no dramas.

Having said that I have done it with a screw driver on my own but that was on engine stand.in car would be more challenging. -

Undoing as above. For tightening you really need to lock the flex plate. Can be done with a mate with a screw driver, or get a proper tool if no friends. -
That definitely sounds like what a cop would say. I need more proof of the no cop status thanks.
-
I absolutely refuse to believe that. Basically a static load. No way would it break a gear. "Jamming the car in gear" or just, you know, putting it in gear....... Very dramatic story. Not believable.

Undoing is easy like that!

RB26 Tomei oil restrictors
Ben C34 replied to weikleenget's topic in RB Series - R31, R32, R33, R34 (1986-2002)
Yeah nah mate. You set up the ecu to open the acusump valve to do its thing during certain conditions, so the ecu isn't making the actual decision, the accusump is.. You are just blocking the accusump operation where you know you don't want it to operate. . For example. Valve closed up to 3000 rpm then open. So if oil pressure drops above 3000 rpm accusmp to the rescue. You don't set it so the ecu opens the valve when required . ( even though that wouldn't be as bad as you make it out to be) -
