  1. The part behind the lid (that the navigation unity slots into.) I'm planning on removing it and doing some modifications.
  2. Does anyone have a spare glovebox (the part that houses the navigation unit)?
  3. How many sets do you want? Call up Niss4x4 and arrange a Courier. You could easily have a set at your door for $800 (including delivery).
  4. Also for comparison, a set of Z33 Brembos (direct bolt on for the V35 Coupe) will only set you back $750 at the wreckers (Niss4x4 in VIC.)
  5. Can I see a photograph of the item? I've seen some mods done on the G35 to enable this feature. Does anyone have info on what models had this feature factory fitted?
  6. If you were in Melbourne I could refer you to someone wrecking an M35 Stagea (likely to have spare seats.)
  7. Good news, the HKS OBLINK looks to be read the ODB port of the CPV35. https://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/product/electronics/monitor/ob-link/application_130801.pdf Details below: Available: SPEED, E/G RPM, WATER TEMP. IGNITION TIMING A/F CORRECTION 1(2) A/F LEARNING VALUE 1(2) INTAKE AIR TEMP. THROTTLE ANGLE 1(2) O2 VOLTAGE 1(2) AIRFLOW VOLTAGE 1(2) FUEL INJECTION TIME Unavailable: INTAKE AIR VOLUME INTAKE MANIFOLD PRESS. Unconfirmed: ACCEL.ANGLE1(2), E/G OIL TEMP. T/M OIL TEMP. GEAR POSITION I'm about to purchase one for ~$150AUD (12,000YEN + postage.)
  8. Damn, these are close to $300! I'll have a look on Yahoo Auctions. Do you know whether the Chinese generic ELM OBD adapter will work with this software? I'm still unsure what protocols are being used.
  9. The HKS OB-link looks perfect. Do you know where these can be purchased from? Is there a generic / Chinese version available? The Carscope Android app looks like the type of display I was after: http://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/product/electronics/monitor/ob-link/
  10. By OBDII cable, are you referring to the Blazt style cable (with an OBD style port)? Regarding the interface, in my opinion, I need it to look a certain way to be functional. When I look at the Nissandatascan software, I can't see what I require while I'm driving -so it's not suitable for me. By Chinese knockoff, are you referring to this? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/C244-For-Nissan-Consult-14pin-Diagnostic-Interface-Connects-to-PC-via-RS232-B-3-/321099678490 It communicates via an RS232 port, which is very limited. I might try to connect this to USB (emulating a COM port.) Are you referring to Launch X431? http://www.vtoolshop.com/launch-x431-x431-nissan-diagnostic-scanner-parts_p392.html I'm still confused as to what protocol the 2003 v35 is using. Hopefully we can work out a solution so that the data can be displayed in an app like Torque.
  11. I know this has been touched on in some threads before, but I thought I'd post because I couldn't find the details I was after. What protocol does the '03 350gt skyline coupe use? Some threads say to use Consult 2 (which I thought was a specific cable/software), whereas others say JOBD (Japanese OBD) which isn't a protocol either.. One thread says "a variant of J1850", another "SAE J1979"... If that is the case, then this reader should work: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mini-OBD2-OBDII-Bluetooth-Auto-Diagnostic-Scanner-Adapter-TORQUE-ANDROID-/190898350248 Another forum says that it's a "mixture of CANbus and K-line protocols". (The G35 seems to use the standard OBD2 adapter with ISO15765-4 CAN protocol (which has many adapters available, like the generic ELMscan.)) The Blitz cable that was mentioned, no longer seems to be available. http://www.blazt.biz/information/cars.php (they appear to have shutdown.. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/391191-whats-happened-to-blazt/) I'm after something like this: http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?products_id=2647 What readers do people use for JDM cars? Given the interest in the import scene, I would have thought that there would be readers available. The Torque app only appears to be for OBD2: http://torque-bhp.com/ Nissan Data Scan has an adapter and display app, however the display looks about as old as the protocols they are using... It could use an update! http://www.nissandatascan.com/ This scanner seems to cover the JOBD & has been in the UK: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OBDMATE-OM500-JOBD-OBDII-EOBD-Code-Reader-Scanner-/380503945578 However, I'm looking for something that I can interface with a tablet (via bluetooth or USB.) Thanks
  12. This type of thread really makes me weep for the future. Restrictions are put in place for a reason. It's worth thinking about why that is, rather than trying to find a way around it. Nightcrawler has a good point -it's very easy to forget how much we don't know. At a young age, under 21, our brains just aren't developed enough to comprehend the risks that we take. That's why we have the phrase "young and stupid". We were all that way once -some of us still are. :-) After you've been driving for long enough, you'll be thankful for these restrictions that are in place. Also, if you know as much about driving as your previous post suggested, then I'm sure you'll know why other P-players shouldn't be driving this type of car. Good luck with your decision!
  13. I posted a thread looking for a cheap fascia (for cutting into to fit some non-standard mods). I'm not looking to pay a lot, given that most people have these leftover after upgrading to a dual DIN fascia. Still better than chucking it in the bin.
  14. Re: carsales -these are typically the prices that ppl want to sell at, not the prices cars actually sell at. True, OP's car is rare. Hopefully we can find the right buyer on these forums as it's a good example. Good luck with the sale.
  15. didn't mean to sound drab.. what I meant was that there is obviously a large margin on these imports. 100% increase in price / 50% decrease.
  16. I know of two examples (however I stopped watching the market in June.) Both cars were in excellent condition with decent upgrades on the rims, exhaust, intake etc.) While I was looking there were a few stock examples listed for $12k. Maybe these two people got amazing bargains as there seems to be a lot of variance in sales figures. I guess it comes down to who is negotiating..
  17. Given that a lot of people have already upgraded to the duan DIN dash - I thought some people may have the original dash sitting around gathering dust. Let me know if you've got one spare, in the vicinity of Melbourne.
  18. You sold your coupe for ~$20k with high kms? DAMN! I've seen a few series 1 coupes (non-anniversary models), with premium interiors & BOSE sound systems, sell for < $10k with ave. kms (~70-80K kms.)
  19. These cars were sold as 'Infiniti' in North America, similar to how Honda rebadge as Acura. It's unlikely that someone has imported their car from there & converted it to RHD. Some people prefer to rebadge to the Infiniti logo. Many people don't see the point in this (as the v35 is already an exotic import) - however some people prefer this though & others like to debadge. This is off topic though. If you want to know the difference in parts between the Infiniti G35 & Skyline 350GT there are a few threads (either here or on G35 driver.)
  20. I cut one of the bolts to fit, so the battery cover fits again. I'd prefer to purchase a stronger holder though.
  21. Melbourne. a larger battery has been installed (original is listed as 125mm wide, 200mm high.) However the tie down clamp doesn't fit. I purchased a projecta 175mm holder, however it doesn't fit properly - the bolts are too long.
  22. Urgently need a battery holder to fit a 175mm wide, 236mm long, 220mm high battery (same as the 350z) in a 2003 350gt coupe.
  23. Interesting discussion re: japanese / english for JDM cars. I see one of the perks of purchasing a JDM car is that the car maintains it's Japanese heritage. I'm not a fan of rebadging to infiniti logos - although I do like the Mt. Fuji based design.
