  1. pics & plates edited - This was a great turnout for a non official GOR Cruise! Weather was awesome and the cars better than awesome! Come on you guys that have not joined SAU-VIC yet, it costs less than you spent in fuel today and you get the opportunity to do DECA and track work and other great cruises like today!
  2. Cant see why you would think its the trans!?? Could be the water temp sensor, or maybe fuel filter? Its fuel related as its not rich enough on cold start.
  3. Fantastic effort everyone!! Congratulations to all involved, your inspiring the rest of us to get into track fun I'm sure! Will put up some video soon.
  4. Is this crap or what for $150 per month!??
  5. GO number 43!! err... OK, 34!
  6. Sorry to hear mate, hope you get it back soon and its all OK!
  7. Hey Al, say hello to him from me - Say his Auto Tech Teacher, Colins, brother.
  8. Snowy, I love the SMAUG plate now I know what it means, ( I never read "The Hobbit") but I reckon there is half a second in it if you remove the front one from blocking the FMIC on that Toyota!
  9. Sorry if this is a repost guy's..... looked back a few pages and could not see it.. The land of goat sphincter rings GRAND PRIXVIEW - UNDERSTANDING PRESS RELEASES 22 August 2007 | 8:35pm You've had two weekends without a grand prix so here is a handy Red Bull Dictionary to remind you what all those Press Release quotes really mean: a useful Red Bullshitometer to keep with you throughout the race weekend. And don't blame the press officers, because you have to remember that the Press Release is the only thing they produce that their team bosses and you, the media, actually recognise as work! So, without even pausing to optimise our issues, please read on: "We have no plans to change any of our drivers in the near future." Means: "We plan to change one of our drivers on Monday after the race." "The car retired with an electrical failure." Means: "The engine seized, threw a piston and con rod through the side of the block where it cut through the electrical wiring loom, causing an electrical failure."* *If you run a customer engine, under no circumstances can you have an engine failure. "We do not know what fuel loads the other teams were running in qualifying." Means: "We are in deep trouble because we are slower than the others, but actually it's worse than that because we are much, much slower than them, as they have enough fuel to run ten laps more than us at the start of the race." "But the car has very good pace in race trim, so we should be okay for the race." Means: "Our car is just plain slow, but if we are stuck in the middle of the pack with no chance of overtaking, we can claim we had a competitive car and no one will know we are lying." "We knew our car would struggle on this type of circuit." Means: "Our car would struggle on any type of circuit made up of a tarmac road surface laid out with straights and corners." "I have a very good relationship with my team-mate." Means: "I am comfortably quicker than my team-mate." "I have a good working relationship with my team-mate." Means: "I hate my team-mate. I call him my 'team-hate.' He can't even remember the names of his mechanics, he does hardly any testing, and yet he just turns up and drives the car and is quicker than me. He also has a much prettier girlfriend." "A difficult first day of practice which saw us struggle to find the right balance on the car. We still need to complete our tyre comparison programme." Means: "The car is a complete pig and the only balance I'm ever likely to find is the one in my bank account. As for the tyre choice, we'll toss a coin in the hotel bar tonight to decide which one to use." "Next year, we should be able to challenge for race wins on a regular basis." Means: "We said exactly the same thing last year, but hope no one will notice that we are repeating ourselves." Of course, none of these comments refer to Red Bull Racing or Toro Rosso press releases, which are always honest, decent and truthful.
  10. Chris, as the DECA's seem to be what most members want and its limited entry, why not implement an extremely complicated points system based on SAU event attendances? Or a simple one that is listed on the SAU-VIC site. The SAU events that are least popular should have most points per person in attendance alloted and popular events have low points allotted. e.g. Go to a meeting, = 5 points Go to Show & Shine = 2 points etc. etc. I know I am not on the committee etc. to suggest something but as I am standing back a bit from it all I am trying to be objective and probably wont qualify for anything.
  11. Yeah Bec, I would have got one of those if I had not forgotten the meeting tonight - AGAIN! S'pose its over by now....
  12. Check ALL the front belts, FAN, ALT, Power Steering, sounds like they are slipping bad and maybe battery is stuffed as well? LOOK CLOSELY AT YOUR TERMINOLOGY AND CLARIFY your symptoms.
  13. 5 35 Andrew Richmond (1) Toyota 79 :LOL SKL 3 2 1:19.5813
  14. Yeah, my wife used to have those before she got a hysterectomy! And you say you read 7 to 8 RWKW more on the dyno on a different day and time and conditions and... and... Hardly inconclusive proof is it? You are more likely to loose power by just fitting a FMIC and changing NOTHING else! EDIT : Sorry meant to say "loose Response" Not that I dont believe you mind you, just that its a bit... inconclusive...
  15. Weather looked like crap but the cars looked great in that lighting I think! Good pics guy's! PS, send that weather down south!! (Another sunny day in Melbourne today!)
  16. Great job guy's!! My Video today Now I know why SMAUG breathes flames!
  17. How do I post a WMV movie file I did of today?
