  1. I suppose I should mention that Adam's old man has wasted enough money on Skylines, and hopefully he will prove to be smarter than me.
  2. WE all want to do a job at the cheapest price, which is not exactly what the owner of any business wants as he has to pay the overheads and make a profit to stay in business and support you if you have problems later! But why not give the option to the "Workshop" to quote the labour and the parts AND give them the pricing you sourced and supplier name as well? This will give them the opportunity to see where your coming from, and for both of you to agree on the price and mutual plan of source and supply. Remember there can be great benefits to working with a workshop where they know they will make a reasonable margin and you will know they will do a great job and look after you if there are any hicupps along the way. In most cases you always get what you pay for, - pay peanuts and you get what monkeys would do! No I don't own an Automotive workshop!
  3. Good one Mark! - I was reading the SAU-VIC Sponsors the other day and wondering about this as my new car has a new ding on EACH SIDE! GRRR.. Will have to get this done as well but the dents are really small and hardy noticeable to most people. BUT not to ME! ;D Can he make the panel back perfect?
  4. ANYONE that suggests Adam to do any mods to this nice STANDARD GTT (Well the exhaust is already on here) will be EXTERMINATED! You have been warned! LOL
  5. Yeah but this human Skyline Transformer would think it was boring! - SWISSPASS STUPIDITY Sorry if a repost... OH and if you think it only looks fast cause he is so close to the ground... see him race a motorbike in japan Man or Machine -who will win!??
  6. I would grind the nut down so it threads imeaditately just minimum on, then weld it as you say so you hopefully can turn it back in just a bit. Weld it first then let completely cool down as stud would expand more than manifold with heat and lock in harder. Then lubricate again alot and when completely cold ease it back and forth just a bit more at a time and you may get lucky.
  7. Had a similar problem - it was the screws on the back plate of the oil pump had come out and I assumed it was a faulty sender until it stated knocking. Drove it for two months though and only admitted defeat when on Sams dyno (still making power - not his fault!) and had to get Jack to truck it home. Unless you have the DIY skills and a few spare RB20's like I had, better not drive it unless you have deep pockets. Although you can pick up a RB20 for $300 if you look around!
  8. Its like the Melbourne vs Sydney thing, - there is no right answer, they both have pro's and cons, though I think there is more of both of those in Sydney!! I love em all, 4's 6's and V8's, hmmm.. actually anything that ignites and goes BANG!
  9. Where are you measuring the boost from? Is it from the intake manifold, - or the turbo to wastegate line? (where it would read the same but not be!) Also, silly as it seems, some people have left packing or rags in the FMIC inlet/outlet and had this problem!
  10. Yeah its amazing the difference I notice with my GTS4 between the RB20 Torque Miser and the AMG V8 5.5 Torque Monster! If you have to compromise with the missus, its the way to go! Especially the fact its silent and she doesnt notice the speed near as much! Last of my pics....
  11. Mav, the work wagon it was.. :-) Patrick , if you mean the last turn almost to go up the mountain, your right - I would not have realised either, so hung back for you. BTW you were not doing to bad, you kept up to me, but I was having trouble keeping with Tharaka! Some more memories..
  12. This was a a great cruise! Gave me a chance to get used to my new "Skyline" Sorry for holding up your angry Mitsubishi Tharaka, but I am just trying to get the feel of it on the fast swepers. Few more pics...
  13. Hey Tharaka, thanks for your great pic of my new car!
  14. MAV's Skyline before we left for Mt Macedon. Mavs Skyline just before we got to the top of Mt Macedon. More to come soon...
  15. I would not like to use the std plenum just sealed at the center and a hole put for the inlet at the front because of obvious uneven distribution. I built my plenum with care to try to avoid this problem but probably would have been better to buy Plasmaman/Subzero etc.
  16. Geoff the solution for you is a AUDI ALLROAD! - V6 TT 2.7ltr - KICKS ASS!! Can easily be tuned for much more power also! I just nearly bought one around $45K for a 2001/2 but got swayed by a V8 that cost a bit more!
  17. Great job guy's!! Mits or Nissan no matter, as long as you beat the Porka's!
  18. Goes to show that job of yours aint so great! Ruined your appreciation of any normally affordable supercar beater!
  19. Anyone can disassemble, build or modify a turbo, after all how many parts is it comprised of and what tools do you need? BUT not everyone has a $50 thousand dollar state of the art balancing rig and the knowhow to configure the components to give the characteristics you want or to put it back together so it does not have problems. Kyp at ATP - Advanced Turbo Performance had the first RB into the 12's and I think the 11's as well many years ago and seems to be in this position. Dont bother calling if you want his expertise for nothing though....
  20. Check this out... (My GTS4) RB20DET Injector Upgrade - Page 1 After all the work to create the ultimate RB20 Intake to suit the R33 Intercooler, I thought that now might be a good time to install the Mazda RX7 550cc injectors. http://www.turboclub.com/turbocars/nissan/...grade/index.htm
