  1. Turbo looks like a t2 frame to me
  2. Get that back turbo out first from underneath - you do not need to slacken off the rear manifold. The front turbo dump will be restricted by the rear turbo. Once it is out you will be able to play with angles a bit more. You may first need to slacken off the front manifold (have been told you can do it without which I can believe after finishing the job). Once I had everything slackened off and the rear turbo out I was able to angle the front turbo down past the AC.
  3. joizuz! feel for ya ben... we had a big 150 odd kph spin on Reeces dam and ended up front first into a ditch -- second last dam (excuse pun) corner. No damage luckily but took us at least 20 minutes to jack up the front, pack rocks underneath and get me bouncing in the boot to get traction in the back while steve backed it out! Destroyed our trophy chances but we finished the stage and live to tell the tale. There were 150 odd meters or black stripes back up the road... Got the footage too - can't wait for movie night
  4. Hey Ben - that was me filling the jerry cans in the BP this arvo. We also blew a cooler pipe off on first stage this morning! Didn't loose too much time but was annoying nonetheless. Big t-bolt clamp on there now - will get some silicon pipes if we have any more trouble.
  5. Damn cooler pipes! Top bloke we ran into him on the boat on the way over gave us some good advice to settle us a bit.
  6. Hey Dunc - we made it too believe it or not! Car 814 1990 r32 gtr - we ran 3:48.09 today with a couple of noob moments that cost us about 10 seconds. Been meaning to do the rounds just been so busy - hopefully get a chance out there tomorrow. Good luck all!
  7. We just did this with some 2860r-7's, was told the Garret 2860r-5 actuators open at 16psi and I believe the HKS actuators open around 15psi (my GT-SS's arrived this week muhaha) Both actuators have the threaded arm, so you can adjust the reach - so yep they are adjustable. Edit: They are good for whatever as long as it is over the base pressure (so 16psi+ or 15psi+). Just depends how much air you bleed of the line that connects to the actuator - leave this disconnected and they might just never open. The turbo however, will break...
  8. I have done this with a mitsubishi turbo before and had zero problems. I would even expect with the larger surface area of the water cooled turbo core that it would dissipate heat slightly better than a non-water cooled core even without the water lines connected. That said - I still prefer to connect them up to water as well (even though it is always such a pain getting the damn things connected!)
  9. Some little prick just smashed mine - is the glass the same between the R32 GTR and GTSt ? This is the little triangle passenger window for people in the backseat.
  10. Not what you want! We are putting the turbos on tomorrow so ill compare against the stockies. HKS GT-SS's are on the way for my car and I am going to trust their kit - guess if they are including restrictors for what are essentially a GT2860R-9 frame with all the same CHRA physical characteristics as the -7's - we should be doing something about it.
  11. No not at all - thats the kind of info I am after. Definitely odd that it would have that warning if there was a restrictor built in. We were assured they have a restrictor - mate who picked them up said the guy showed him another turbo without a restrictor to compare.
  12. Just been informed they have GT2860R-7's restrictors built in. Guy also said a lot of people actually remove the restrictors thinking they are improving flow - apparently the shaft is actually physically supported by the internal restrictor and then go boom. Bogans and turbos don't mix.
  13. Hey guys about to stick some -7 ball bearing items on an R32 GTR Is an oil feed restrictor required ?
  14. Customs is usually the quick bit - but I wouldn't stress they might have a holdup on a certain shipment for some reason
  15. Mine made 184rwkw on racepace dyno when I first got it - stock everything minus boost controller @ 13psi (turned this back down!) and apexi pods. Was informed it was a pretty good result considering mods.
  16. Both this one and the Trust Power Extreme II have good clearance - just gotta watch steep driveways with the rear cannon on the PEII. If you lower the car that's another thing though.
  17. We are looking at braking options for our Targa car - is anyone running around with APP brakes on their GTR? Wondering if they are any chop - seem look a good halfway between AP's and G4's. Looking at 6pot - 355mm on the front and 4p - 330mm on rear. http://www.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%...=en&ie=UTF8
  18. True what someone said earlier that a lot of V8 lovers have some respect for the GTR (only), I have had so many conversations with such along these lines: "It's not actually a godzilla though, is it?" "Yeah" "Not like the ones Skaife and Richards were driving around Bathurst?" "Yeah - its the same car" "Awww...." (staring quietly at the car with a beady eye)
  19. RIP Many have walked away from much worse when equipment does not fail - I also heard that his seat came away.
  20. Woo hoo - 3" I feel better now Duncan thanks! We are having serious trouble finding an R32 N1 oil cooler - I doubt there are many left in the world - anyone know how many rows they are?
  21. Hey whats the deal with exhaust regs? Had a chat with Ben @ Racepace and he mentioned we may be limited to a 3" exhaust maximum on the GTR? Ouch... Stuart - those turbos were genuine N1's?
  22. We are looking at the G4 Racing AP copies - just hoping they will fit under 17x8 / 17x9 wheels Ben you mentioned being able to run 18x9 under the option rule - what does this entail? Couldn't find it mentioned in the regs.
  23. Sweet re: oil pump - Steve already bought one! I do now remember hearing that they flowed less - thanks. How much were the R32 N1's and how long did they take to get here? Edit: spose i should just get on the phone to nissan eh!!
  24. Is an N1 oil pump required? I am thinking the higher flow is more likely to cause oil issues without any internal engine mods to oiling for the head. We are trying to avoid cracking open the motor at this stage. Also just trying to get our hands on some N1 "lagmasters" - one guy looks to have the R34 N1 dumps as well which could be a good bonus - you guys know of any issues fitting these in the 32 with the standard front pipe positions? Oh and if anyone has an N1 oil cooler, power steering cooler or water pump we are in the market BIG TIME!
